While Rome plays host to thousands of tourists each year and boasts countless lodging options, only a few luxury hotels near the city's center have outdoor swimming pools. Each of these high-end establishments features a unique ambiance while maintaining its Roman heritage and style.

Boscolo Hotels Exedra Roma

The Exedra Roma hotel is located on the Piazza della Repubblica, with views of famous Roman sites from each of its 240 guestrooms. The hotel plays classical elements, such as its white marble exterior, against contemporary furnishings like the guestroom furniture with its clean lines. The Exedra houses Rome's first rooftop hotel pool, which is accompanied by an upscale bar and restaurant called Sensus. Italy's government rated the Excedra a five-star luxury hotel.

Radisson Blu es. Hotel, Rome

The sleek Radisson Blu es. Hotel offers guests airy, minimalist guestrooms spread over seven stories, with ultra-modern clean-lined furniture mingling metal, wood and glass. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Zest overlooks the ancient aqueduct arches. Sette, the hotel's fine dining establishment, overlooks the pool and spa and serves traditional Italian fare. Guests are welcome to use the sleek outdoor pool, which measures 20 m and is open during the summer season.

Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi

The Parco dei Principi Hotel houses 179 guestrooms and 24 suites with classical European furnishings. The Pauline Borghese restaurant overlooks the hotel's botanical gardens and serves updated takes on traditional Italian cuisine. Guests can take advantage of the spa and fitness center, which are located in the private botanical gardens. The 25 m outdoor pool is adjoined by a solarium and bar, which serves light fare.

Aldrovandi Villa Borghese

The Aldrovandi Villa Borghese was updated in 2008, and its 108 guestrooms and suites now feature contemporary furnishings in a pale blue, cream and beige palette. The Michelin-starred restaurant, baby, sits beside the outdoor pool and serves guests handcrafted Italian and Mediterranean dishes. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel's fully equipped fitness center. The luxury hotel is within walking distance of the Villa Borghese and the Borghese Galleries, as well as the Spanish Steps.
