Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut, is a museum celebrating both American and maritime history. Learn about life in the 1800s from reenactors as you take a horse and carriage ride through 19th Century Village, enjoy an afternoon out on the water in a rented boat or roam the Maritime Art Gallery. For longer stays, sign up for classes on sailing and maritime culture. Mystic Seaport does not have a hotel on the premises, but choose from a number of lodging options within easy walking distance.

Mermaid Inn of Mystic

Whaler's Inn is less than a 10-minute walk from Mystic Seaport and just half a block from the Mystic River. Comprised of five separate buildings, Whaler's Inn has a room for everyone, including the Hoxie House, an adults-only building to ensure a quiet stay, and Main Building, which features a business center and restaurant on its first floor. Families enjoy the Noank and Stonington suites with larger rooms and a shared deck. The inn has a video camera on the roof that lets you pan and zoom in the surrounding area via its website.

The only hotel located directly on the Mystic River, the Steamboat Inn offers 11 guest rooms, each with its own name and theme. The Mystic and Ariadne rooms are perfect for romantic getaways, while the Carolyn kitchenette is best for families or longer stays. Valiant is the newest and most modern room, with a private entrance and rain shower. Mystic Seaport is approximately 10 minutes away by foot after crossing the drawbridge.

Right across the street from Mystic Aquarium and the Olde Mistick Village Shopping Center, the Hilton Mystic is also a short walk to Mystic Seaport, ensuring easy access to all of Mystic's most popular attractions.
