Little Miss Pageants vary in age ranges, but typically are for children from 5 to 9 years of age. Many pageants that are preliminaries to the Miss Virginia and Miss America scholarship pageants feature Little Miss categories, allowing young girls to participate. Competing in scholarship pageants from a young age can help girls gain the knowledge and pageant confidence they will need to compete when they are teenagers and young adults. Little Miss Pageants offer scholarship money, savings bonds and prizes to contestants.
