Little Miss Pageants vary in age ranges, but typically are for children from 5 to 9 years of age. Many pageants that are preliminaries to the Miss Virginia and Miss America scholarship pageants feature Little Miss categories, allowing young girls to participate. Competing in scholarship pageants from a young age can help girls gain the knowledge and pageant confidence they will need to compete when they are teenagers and young adults. Little Miss Pageants offer scholarship money, savings bonds and prizes to contestants.

Tiny Miss Virginia

The Tiny Miss Virginia Pageant is held annually in Charlottesville, VA at the Doubletree Hotel. Babies through preteen age groups compete in the swimsuit, school-wear and gown events. The pageant also offers the optional events of denim wear, photogenic and talent. Over $30,00 in cash and prizes are offered to winners.

Little Miss Greater Richmond

Miss Greater Richmond is a non-profit scholarship program for providing scholarship dollars and promoting community service. The Little Miss category is for pageant contestants from 5 to 8 years of age. The annual winner of the Little Miss will earn savings bonds for college and make appearances at community events in the Richmond, VA area throughout the year. The 2010 Miss Greater Richmond won the Miss Virginia Pageant in 2010.

Miss Chesterfield

Miss Chesterfield is a scholarship pageant in Chesterfield, VA in which all contestants must raise money for the charity the Children's Miracle Network to be eligible to participate. The Little Miss category is for pageant contestants from 7 to 9 years of age. Categories for Little Miss include sportswear modeling, "Dressy Sunday's Best Dress" modeling and onstage question. The onstage question portion will feature one simple question, such as "What is your favorite color?" which will be taken from information the contestant provides on her entry form.

Miss Lynchurg and Miss Hill City

The Miss Lynchburg and Miss Hill City pageant features a Little Miss competition, which is a sister affiliate to the Miss Lynchburg and Miss Hilly City Scholarship pageant, a preliminary to Miss Virgina. Little Miss contestants, from 5 to 8 years of age, will compete in Evening Gown and Onstage Question. Little Miss winners will receive a crown, a sash, and a cash gift towards state-level entry fees. Miss Lynchburg 2011 was the first runner-up in the 2011 Miss Virginia pageant.
