List of Hotels in Manchester

Manchester, located within central England, features a large historic downtown and expansive suburban region bordered by the Pennine Hills. Visitors will find the city has a wealth of lodging options concentrated in several distinct areas that offer convenient access to local attractions, including Manchester Cathedral, the Imperial War Museum and the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Manchester Airport

Located 10 miles south of downtown Manchester, Manchester Airport features several moderate and luxury hotels within a mile. Radisson Hotel features standard and business-class rooms that offer walking access to the airport via the covered skylink that accesses terminal 1 and 2. Bewleys Hotel and Crowne Plaza Hotel are set within a quarter-mile of the Manchester Airport. Both hotels include spacious guest rooms with views of the airport, on-site eateries and a complimentary shuttle.


Downtown Manchester features a variety of hotels that offer walking access to dining and entertainment venues. Within the downtown area, guests will find the Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester Arndale shopping mall and Piccadilly gardens. Accommodations include the Britannia Hotel, The Gardens Hotel and Hilton, all providing luxurious guest rooms, fitness centers and large lobbies with cocktail lounges. Visitors will find a few historic Victorian architecture hotels in the downtown area, including the Midland Hotel and Abode Manchester Hotel, that offer Victorian-themed guest rooms.


The Deansgate area is located on the southwestern edge of downtown Manchester and bordered by the scenic River Irwell. The neighborhood offers several hotel options, including the Castlefield Hotel, Hilton Deansgate and Manchester Marriott Victoria with views of the downtown skyline. Deansgate features many attractions within walking distance of the hotels, including the Opera House, Manchester Museum of Science & Industry and the People’s History Museum. The historic Deansgate Rail Station, located on the southern edge of the neighborhood, offers trains to Liverpool and Preston.

Greater Manchester

The Greater Manchester area features several suburbs that encompass the downtown area. Visitors will find a few hotels spread throughout these cities, which are away from the hustle of downtown. Trafford, located seven miles southwest of downtown, features the Premiere Inn and Travelodge all centered around the Trafford Centre Shopping Mall. Bury New Road travels northwest out of downtown to the suburb of Bury, 15 miles northwest. Guests traveling the road will find several hotels, including the Fairway Lodge in Prestwich and Rostrevor Hotel in Bury.
