Tucked into a scenic desert valley amid the Black, Cerbat and Hualapai mountains of northwestern Arizona, Kingman offers travelers an excellent base for exploring the region’s natural and man-made wonders. These include the Grand Canyon, Lake Havasu, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Kingman, the seat of Mohave County, has five hotels, most of them in the mid-price range, that provide a nice mix of comfortable accommodations and basic amenities.

Best Western Kings Inn and Suites

This two-story, 101-unit hotel lies close to the heart of historic Kingman but only 14 miles from Hualapai Mountain Park, a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts that sits at a cool elevation of 6,700 feet. The hotel has a limited number of pet-friendly rooms, where guests can keep their animal companions for a small additional fee. Also available are rooms with kitchenettes, microwaves and refrigerators. Hotel facilities and services include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, business and fitness centers and a complimentary hot breakfast. Eateries within a half-mile of the hotel are ABC Restaurant, JB’s Restaurant, Lo’s Chinese, Oyster’s Mexican and Sonic Drive-In.

Comfort Inn

Within a short drive of two area ghost towns, Chloride and Oatman, this three-story, 60-unit hotel also puts guests close to Kingman’s Powerhouse Route 66 Museum, which celebrates the rich and colorful history of this legendary highway. High-speed Internet is available throughout the hotel’s rooms and common areas, and some rooms also feature microwaves and compact refrigerators. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and hot tub and serves a hot breakfast each morning. Nearby restaurants include Cracker Barrel, Dambar Steakhouse and El Palacio Mexican Restaurant.

Hampton Inn and Suites Kingman

Although this four-story, 86-unit hotel makes a good base for day trips to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead, there are plenty of recreational opportunities close by. Guests might take a walking tour of Kingman’s historic downtown district or hike around the nearby Camp Beale Loop Trail. Accommodations at the Hampton Inn include standard-size hotel rooms and a limited number of suites, all of which feature compact refrigerators and high-speed Internet. Recreational facilities include an exercise room and indoor swimming pool. The hotel provides a complimentary hot breakfast daily.

Holiday Inn Express Kingman

Accommodations at this three-story, 75-unit hotel include 47 standard, king and queen hotel rooms, as well as 28 suites with sofa sleepers and wet bars. The hotel is a short distance from two 18-hole golf courses, Cerbat Cliffs and Valle Vista Country Club. Hotel facilities and services include business and fitness centers, indoor swimming pool, hot tub and complimentary hot breakfast buffet. Restaurants close to the hotel are Cracker Barrel, El Palacio and Kingman Company Steakhouse.

SpringHill Suites Kingman Route 66

Part of the Marriott family of hotel brands, this four-story, all-suites hotel is a smart choice for families and travelers planning an extended stay in the Kingman area. Each of the hotel’s 73 studio suites features sleeper sofas, spacious desk/work areas and kitchenette facilities, including a microwave, refrigerator and dishware. The hotel provides a hot breakfast buffet each morning and room service delivery from local restaurants. Recreational facilities include an indoor swimming pool and exercise room.
