Los Angeles can easily claim to be the entertainment capital of the world, as it is home to Hollywood, celebrities and every type of entertainment medium imaginable. If you are planning a kids party, Los Angeles has dozens of venues and companies that provide kid-appropriate entertainment for your child's next birthday party or celebration.
Full-Service Entertainment
For a wide selection of entertainment choices, these two places will fit the bill. Super Showstoppers (supershowstoppers.com) will put on a show in your home or at a venue complete with magicians, puppets, dancing, music and more. Parties can also include a child-friendly character such as a princess, pirate or animal who will interact and entertain children for up to three hours. The Giggle Factory (gigglefactoryla.com) is a full-service children's entertainment company that will plan and host a party at your home or venue. The Giggle Factory offers clowns, character appearances, marionette shows, petting zoos and tea parties, among others. Parents can choose a party theme or book one or two entertainment elements depending on their needs. The Giggle Factory can memorialize an event with photography or videography.
Animal Themes
For your animal-lover, consider an animal-themed show. Reptacular Animals (reptacularanimals.com) will come to your home and put on a show that features reptiles, birds and furry pocket-sized animals. Parents have the option of choosing from a reptile, snake, lizard or animal show. Jessie's Party Animals and Petting Zoo (jessiespartyanimals.com) gives kids the opportunity to experience goats, pigs, ducks, ponies and rabbits up close and personal. Jessie's comes to you with a petting zoo for kids to touch and they may hold many of the animals. Parents can also book pony rides. Jessie's is willing to match whatever party theme you have planned by dressing up the animals in coordinating attire.
Puppets
Bob Baker Marionettes (bobbakermarionettes.com) has been an entertainment fixture since 1960. Marionette shows are performed at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Kids can take in a puppet show followed by cake and presents in the party room next to the theater. Party packages include cake and ice cream, balloons, cleanup and setup. The birthday child will be presented with a special gift during the puppet show. Babonazo Productions (babonazo.com) will bring a puppet show to your party; they use hand puppets similar to Muppets. The company's shows are suitable for ages two and up and all stories are 30 to 40 minutes long. The puppeteer sets up the theater at the party. Parents can choose from a variety of stories that are all light and funny.
Magic
Let kids be amazed and enchanted with a kid-friendly magic show. Ty the Magic Guy (tythemagicguy.com) will come to your home to present a 30-minute funny magic show. He engages the children in the action and makes the birthday child the star of the show. After the show, Ty twists balloon animals for all of the guests or, for children eight years and up, he can provide a 15-minute magic lesson. Rafael and Katia, Magic Castle Magicians (rafaelmagic.com), offer private magic shows for kids parties. Rafael and Katia perform a 60-minute birthday party show that includes the birthday child as the designated magician of the day; the magician of the day helps assist the duo in their act. If requested, Rafael and Katia will dress up in costumes to suit the theme of the party. They can also present the show in Spanish or a bilingual version.
