Located in the midst of Virginia's Historic Triangle -- the Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown settlements -- Busch Gardens and its sister park, Water Country USA, are high-tech alternatives to the mostly educational surrounding area. Busch Gardens has over 40 rides and attractions, including the steel Alpengeist roller coaster that can reach speeds of up to 67 miles an hour and climbs to a height of 195 feet; and Griffon, which reaches 205 feet into the air and blazes at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. A number of hotels close to Busch Gardens offer both a convenient place to refresh during the day and a good night's rest.

Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder

The Crowne Plaza is only two miles away from Busch Gardens and a half mile from Colonial Williamsburg. It is located on the Fort Magruder battlegrounds and has over 300 rooms and suites that have been decorated with an eye towards complementing its historic setting. The Veranda Dining Room is the Crowne Plaza's on-site restaurant. The property allows pets under 40 lbs. and charges a non-refundable one-time cleaning fee of $45, as of 2010.

Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, Williasmburg East

The Country Inns & Suites is just 1.5 miles from Busch Gardens and offers guests a complimentary hot breakfast buffet that includes, among other items, waffles, bacon and doughnuts. The hotel has 88 rooms and suites, and offers discounted extended rates for guests who are planning on staying at the hotel for more than seven days. Check with the hotel before booking for special packages for rooms and Busch Garden tickets. To avoid waiting in line at the amusement park, purchase Busch Garden tickets from the Country Inns & Suites' front desk.

Kingsmill Resort

This golf resort is located approximately two miles from Busch Gardens and offers a complimentary shuttle service to the amusement park. The Kingsmill Resort has over 425 guest rooms and suites. The average size of a guest room is 375 square feet, and the one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites average a spacious 820 to 1500 square feet. The resort has a full-service spa and five on-site dining establishments. For golf lovers, this resort on the banks of the James River offers three championship courses.

Embassy Suites Williamsburg

The Embassy Suites Williamsburg is located about five miles from Busch Gardens. This all-suites hotel offers a complimentary breakfast cooked to order and also features a complimentary cocktail reception in the evenings. Each of the suites has a microwave oven and two 32-inch televisions. The Embassy Suites has a Pizza Hut Express and a cafe on site. You can avoid the lines at Busch Gardens by purchasing your park tickets from the Embassy Suites' front desk. The hotel also offers special room and Busch Gardens ticket packages.

Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg

The Great Wolf Lodge is located approximately ten miles from Busch Gardens. This 405-room all suites hotel boasts a large indoor waterpark that has slides, a wave pool, a water fort structure and a lazy river. Rooms are styled in rustic Northwoods fashion and feature refrigerators and microwaves. Some suites have a loft area. The lodge has an on-site spa, an arcade, and dining facilities. Guests at Great Wolf can purchase tickets for Busch Gardens at the concierge desk.
