Pet-friendly lodging is as plentiful in Orlando as amusement parks and entertainment options. You may find some properties are head and tail above the rest when you choose one geared toward your travel needs with extra-special amenities and services. While you’re visiting, don’t miss exploring one of the Orlando area's many parks that allow dogs.

Budget Travelers

Motel 6 has two Orlando locations that welcome pets and kids free of charge. The Motel 6 Orlando-Winter Park is centrally located four miles from downtown Orlando and Winter Park, home to championship golf courses and a variety of museums offering free or low-cost admission. The Motel 6 Orlando-International Drive is a mile from Universal Studios and four miles from SeaWorld. Both properties offer outdoor pools and coin-operated laundry facilities.

Extended Stay

Residence Inn offers spacious accommodations with full kitchens and separate living and sleeping quarters. Pet-friendly lodging is available at six of the brand’s Orlando locations: on Augusta National Dive one mile from the airport; on Canada Avenue, centrally located near theme parks; on Universal Boulevard near the Orlando Convention Center; on University Boulevard in east Orlando near the University of Central Florida; on Westwood Boulevard near SeaWorld; and neighboring the Walt Disney World parks at Marbella Palm Court.


The Doubletree Resort-Orlando International Drive sits next to SeaWorld and welcomes pets up to 25 pounds for $100. Take complimentary shuttles to SeaWorld and the Walt Disney World parks. Family-focused amenities include a kid’s lounge, a lagoon pool with a waterfall, mini-golf and two children’s pools. Enjoy food poolside and at two casual restaurants. The Holiday Inn Resort Orlando – The Castle welcomes your small family pet for a $75 fee. The resort has a pool with a fountain and offers shuttles to the Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks. Kids 12 and under enjoy free breakfast. Dining choices include two casual restaurants on-site. Loews Royal Pacific Resort allows up to two pets for room, based on availability. Loews kid and pet programs offer special menus, gifts and guides for kid- and pet-friendly attractions and activities. A man-made beach has an interactive play area for kids. Characters from Universal Orlando make appearances on Tuesdays and Saturdays at Island Dining Room, one of three restaurants. The jungle-themed Sheraton Safari Hotel and Suites Lake Buena Vista, located one-eighth mile from Downtown Disney, welcomes dogs up to 80 pounds. The resort has a game room and free transportation to the Disney parks. Cool off in the kid’s pool and a 79-foot python waterslide. Three dining options are available on-site.


The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel near Universal Studios offers the Lowes Loves Pets program and welcomes your four-legged travel companion with lots of goodies. Relax on your guest room’s plush Mediterranean-style bed or chaise lounge situated near floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bay. Enjoy signature services at the Mandara Spa, including the Four Hands Massage in which two massage therapists work simultaneously; and the Balinese Massage which combines acupressure and stretching with a Swedish massage. Dine in one of the resort’s eight restaurants and lounges.
