Hotels in Nuevo Laredo

by Ken Macdonald Google

Nuevo Laredo is directly across the Rio Grande, which forms the Mexican-American border, from the Texan city of Laredo. For decades the town has been a favorite destination for Americans who want to sample a taste of Mexican life. The downtown area has bars, cafes and restaurants where visitors can sample tequilas, margaritas and spicy Mexican food. In a September 2010 bulletin, the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs warned travelers to exercise caution when visiting Nuevo Laredo because of the violent drug cartel conflicts.
