Hotels in New Orleans by the Convention Center

The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans serves as a venue for business events, trade shows and exhibitions. The center also has a UPS Store, Internet access and a food court. New Orleans features hotels within walking distance of the Convention Center, many located in the city’s Arts District. Convention Center hotels are close to attractions like the French Quarter, the Louisiana Superdome and museums.

Convention Center Hotels

Hotel New Orleans is across the street from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans' Arts District. The Arts District contains more than 20 art galleries, five museums and a number of restaurants. The hotel features antique re-creations reminiscent of the 19th century, a six-story atrium and a three-story enclosed Mediterranean courtyard. On-site amenities include safety deposit boxes next to the front desk, a vending machine with hot and cold food and car rentals. Guestrooms have free Internet access. The New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center is housed in a renovated 19th-century cotton mill. Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center is one block from the Convention Center, next to Generations Hall and the Sugar Mill event venue. Marriott's SpringHill Suites New Orleans Downtown is a five-minute walk from the Morial Convention Center and a 10-minute walk to the French Quarter and the Aquarium of the Americas. The hotel offers local restaurant delivery, babysitting referrals and a buffet breakfast. All suites have mini-refrigerator, microwave and wet bars. Select suites feature living rooms with sofa beds. Residence Inn New Orleans Downtown is within walking distance of the Convention Center, the French Quarter, Harrah’s Casino and the Louisiana Superdome. This Marriott property accepts pets for a nonrefundable sanitation fee. Hotel amenities include a picnic area, grocery shopping service and local restaurant delivery. Rooms have full kitchen with stove, oven, dishwasher, pots and pans, dinnerware and utensils.

AAA Four Diamond Hotels

W New Orleans-French Quarter is next to Jackson Square, only a mile and a half from the Morial Convention Center. The hotel’s P.A.W. -- Pets Are Welcome -- program provides dog walking, pet beds and pet goodies. On-site amenities include an outdoor courtyard pool, concierge service and 24-hour valet parking. Select rooms have gumball machines, DVD and CD libraries and 42-inch plasma televisions. Guests pay a daily fee for wireless Internet. Loews New Orleans Hotel sits in the Arts District across the street from Harrah’s Casino and less than a mile from the Convention Center. The Loews Loves Kids program includes Fisher-Price welcome gifts, special menus, on-site activities and lists of children’s attractions in New Orleans. The property has an indoor pool, spa and a shoe shine. Guestrooms feature artwork by Harriet Blum.
