Vidago is a small town in the Portuguese countryside that is known for its natural mineral water springs. Although a luxury hotel -- the Vidago Palace Hotel -- is one of the town's notable landmarks, there are few other lodging options within Vidago itself. A range of hotels can be found in the larger town of Chaves, which is just to the north of Vidago.

Vidago Palace Hotel

Vidago Palace Hotel is a grand, historic property that has welcomed guests since 1910. It is a member of the elite group Leading Small Hotels of the World, offering the opulent style of a Portuguese country manor with high ceilings, decorative stucco work and expansive parkland views. The decor of the guest rooms is inspired by the natural surroundings of the region, with local fauna motifs incorporated into the fabrics and custom furnishings. Albergaria Jaime

Albergaria Jaime occupies a late 19th-century manor in the heart of Chaves, a city about 10 miles north of Vidago. It is located near the city's ancient castle. The hotel offers 61 guest rooms and two spa suites, all with bright, contemporary decor and marble bathrooms. Room rates include a daily buffet breakfast. Facilities include an ultra-modern cyber bar with computers for guests to use, as well as a large furnished terrace and big-screen televisions.
