Hotels Near Tampa Stadium

From 1976 to 1997, the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers played their home games at Tampa Stadium. The following season the team moved next door into the new Raymond James Stadium, thus relegating Tampa Stadium to the wrecking ball. Regardless, fans of the gridiron will have no problems finding a hotel near the Buccaneer's current home. These mostly chain hotels provide easy access to both the stadium and nearby Tampa International Airport.

Comfort Inn Airport at RJ Stadium

The Comfort Inn Airport at RJ Stadium puts guests less than 1 mile north of the former Tampa Stadium site. It has 235 guest rooms, which feature a standard layout and design and come with basic amenities; suites feature an in-room Jacuzzi. Guests park for free at the hotel during their stay, meaning they save on game-day parking by walking the short distance to the stadium. The hotel allows pets, but guests must pay nonrefundable pet fees once per stay. Guests have access to a business center, small fitness center and an outdoor pool. The hotel does not have a restaurant.

Holiday Inn Express Tampa Stadium Airport Area

Guests of the Holiday Inn Express Tampa Stadium Airport Area walk to the Raymond James Stadium, leaving the car safely at the hotel. All rooms come with hard-wired high-speed Internet access and standard amenities. Larger suites with separate sitting areas are available. The on-site steakhouse went out of business in 2010, but many well-known chain restaurants lie within a short drive from the hotel. Guests relax by the outdoor swimming pool or work up a sweat in the fitness center and outdoor jogging track. The hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle service.

The AAA-rated, three-diamond Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore offers moderately upscale guest rooms and suites 1.5 miles south of the stadium and just 3 miles from the airport terminals. All rooms underwent complete renovation in 2008, and they feature large windows that them a light and airy appearance. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, Internet access, LaVazza coffeemakers and Crabtree & Evelyn bath products. Guests relax among palm trees in the lobby or at the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel's full-service restaurant offers seafood, steak and pasta in a casual setting, and the lounge serves drinks until midnight.

Days Inn Airport/Stadium

Guests of the Days Inn Airport/Stadium stay within walking distance to the stadium and reach the airport via the hotel's free shuttle service. The two outdoor swimming pools provide ample opportunity for rest and relaxation before and after the game. Guest rooms have a standard chain hotel layout and come with basic amenities. Free wireless Internet is available throughout the entire establishment. Numerous off-site dining options lie just a few steps away. The hotel allows pets, but guests must pay a nonrefundable pet fee every three days. The parking lot accommodates trucks, buses and other large vehicles.
