Hotels Near the Sleeping Bear Bed & Breakfast in Empire, Michigan

The Sleeping Bear Bed and Breakfast is located in a circa 1889 homestead in northwest Michigan, just outside the coastal town of Empire. The five-bedroom inn offers a peaceful setting with farm and forest views and a gourmet breakfast. The Empire area offers alternative accommodations, including hotels that offer convenient access to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Maple Lane Resort

Maple Lane Resort is a 9-mile drive northwest of the inn on Glen Lake. It is adjacent to the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, where guests can access hiking trails and several beaches. The resort has 25 rooms, including standard rooms, kitchenette units and Victorian-style rooms with a fireplace. Private beach access is just outside of the motel with a pier, swimming area and boats for rent. The Manor on Glen Lake is within walking distance and features lakefront fine dining in a former 100-year-old hotel.

The Lakeshore Inn

The Lakeshore Inn in Glen Arbor is a 10-mile drive from Sleeping Bear Bed & Breakfast and only two blocks from Lake Michigan. The colonial-style, two-story motel offers walking access to the one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants of downtown Glen Arbor, including Cherry Republic, Boone Dock’s Restaurant and the Cottage Book Shop. Twelve rooms are available with two beds, modern decor and a shared balcony or porch. Guests have access to tennis courts at an adjacent city park.

Best Western Scenic Hill Resort

Best Western Scenic Hill Resort is on U.S. 31, 14 miles south of Empire. Guests are within 2 miles of Crystal Lake, Platte Lake and the Beulah City Beach. The modern hotel offers standard accommodations and suites with a more spacious floor plan and whirlpool tub. There's a day spa, a heated indoor pool and a hot tub. Downtown Beulah offers a variety of local eateries, including the Cherry Hut Restaurant and Phoenix Cafe.

Honor Motel

Honor Motel is a privately owned at-door parking motel in Honor, Michigan, just a short drive south of Empire. Sixteen rooms are available, with an outdoor patio space, lounge chairs and wireless Internet access. An outdoor picnic area is adjacent to the motel and a rental cabin is available to guests needing more room. Honor is within minutes of many outdoor activities, including fishing on the Platte River and hiking the Betsie Valley Trail.
