Most of the Broadway theaters in New York's Times Square area are on streets in a rectangular-shaped area that is bordered by West 41st Street to the south, 54th Street to the north, 9th Avenue to the west and 6th Avenue to the east. Staying in a hotel in this area is not only a good idea if you plan on attending a few Broadway shows; it also puts you within walking distance to Central Park, Rockefeller Center and many other famous New York sites.

The Paramount Hotel is near to the Richard Rodgers, Music Box and Imperial Theatres.
The Michelangelo Hotel is close to the Times Square area, but away from the main hustle and bustle, making it a quieter stay for guests who like their hotels to be retreats from the action. This hotel, which greets guests with a elegant lobby accented by mottled marble floors, has a 2009 Four Star rating by Michelin, a Four Diamond rating by AAA, and has made the Travel & Leisure Magazine's top 500 "Greatest Hotels of the World" list. Conde Nast Traveler has also placed the Michelangelo on its "Best Place to Stay in the Whole World." gold list. The 179 rooms and suites are large, averaging 475 square feet, and feature Italian marble in the bathrooms.The Michelangelo Hotel, which was originally built in 1926, is near the Cadillac Winter Garden and Gershwin Theatres.
Amsterdam Court Hotel
This hotel offers Broadway theaters right outside its front door. The Gershwin Theatre is across the street, while the Winter Garden Theatre sits diagonally to the Amsterdam Court. This hotel has 110 guest rooms, which are small, but typical of New York City rooms. Although the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, the Natsumi restaurant sits next door, as does a Subway restaurant. Other nearby eateries include an Applebee's and a Palm restaurant. The hotel describes its clean, simple decor as "Euro chic."
Doubletree Guest Suites Times Square
This 45-floor all-suites hotel is located in the heart of Times Square. The living rooms in these suites all features a pull-out sofa bed, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The Doubletree Guest Suites has an onsite Broadway-themed restaurant, Ginger's, and a lounge in its lobby that is open for pre- and post-theater cocktails. The nearest theaters to the Doubletree Guest Suites are the Palace and the Lunt-Fontanne. Across the street from the Doubletree, a Broadway theater ticket discount outlet, TKTS, sells unsold day of performance tickets at a 25 to 50 percent off their regular prices.
