Hotels near Newark Airport with Extended Parking

by Alexander Grouch

Newark airport is a major mid-Atlantic hub for international travel. Due to reasons such as missed flights or irregular flight times, you may need to spend a night or two at a hotel near Newark airport. If you drove to a Newark airport, a hotel that also offers extended parking will provide you with the most convenience. Newark airport hotels with extended parking range from hotels within a few miles of the airport to one on the actual airport property (the Marriott).

On the Premises

The only hotel on Newark airport property is the Marriott, which does offer extended parking. Since the Marriott is so close to the airport, it caters to travel needs, providing shuttle service to every airport terminal. Additional amenities include a business center, pool and fitness center. Parking rates depend on how long you stay but in general Marriott's on-site extended parking is more expensive than extended lots a bit further from the airport. However, since the parking is the closest non-official airport parking, you pay in large part for convenience.

Within Three Miles

The Hilton Newark Airport is less than three miles from the airport. In addition to amenities such as a pool and fitness center, the Hilton has special stay-and-park rates. Conversely, if you plan to park longer than you plan to stay at the hotel, you can pay for your hotel room and parking separately. Other hotels under three miles from Newark Airport that offer extended parking include the Hampton Inn (less than three miles away), the Days Hotel (less than three miles away) and the Renaissance (about three miles away).

Within Four Miles

If you don't mind staying further than three miles from Newark Airport you have a wide array of hotel options to choose from that will also offer extended parking. In general, the further you park from the airport, the cheaper your daily rate will be. Hotels between three and four miles with extended parking include the Wyndham Garden Hotel (just over three miles away), Best Western Newark Airport West (just over three miles away) and the Fairfield Inn and Suites Newark Airport (four miles away).

Activites in the Area

One of the biggest draws of the Newark airport area if you have time to spare is that it is only 11 miles from New York City. To get to New York City you will take either Amtrak or New Jersey Transit from Newark to Penn Station in New York City. If the big city isn't your thing you may enjoy a sporting event at the Meadowlands Complex (home to four professional sports teams and a racetrack).
