Lord's Cricket Ground, the "Home of Cricket," is located in the tiny London district of St John's Wood. The area around the world-famous cricket ground is characterized by ultra-expensive and elegant properties, a handful of which have been converted to hotels. While some are lavish and cater to the wealthiest of travelers, several more modest townhouse hotels present relatively affordable lodging options.

    The Landmark London

The Landmark London hotel has welcomed visitors since 1899 and exudes historic charm with its grand architecture topped with a clock tower reminiscent of Big Ben. The more recent of its many prestigious titles and awards include Travel + Leisure magazine's award for the World's Best Business Hotel in 2009 and a place on Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List multiple times. It is also a member of the elite Leading Hotels of the World group. The hotel is located within a 10-minute walk from Lord's as well as the shops of Oxford Circus and the theater district. Guests enjoy direct access to a railway and tube station under a glass canopy. The Landmark's guest rooms average 592 square feet, making them some of the most spacious in the city.

    Danubius Hotel Regents Park

The 365-room Danubius Hotel Regents Park overlooks Lord's Cricket Ground in one direction and the lawns and woods of Regents Park in the other. Several major train stations are located within minutes of the hotel. The on-site restaurant, Minsky's, is inspired by a classic New York deli and is known for its weekend carvery. The hotel offers comprehensive concierge services to meet all the need of its guests and ensure they enjoy the best of London. The concierge will book and confirm flights and train tickets, arrange limousine service, acquire tickets for plays and concerts, and recommend a restaurant or reserve a table for a romantic dinner.

    The Colonnade

The Colonnade is a boutique townhouse hotel in "Little Venice" next to Regent's Canal. The canal is an attraction in itself, offering boat trips, a floating art gallery and a puppet theater on a barge. The hotel offers special seasonal packages that combine accommodations with sightseeing tours or entrance to local attractions like the London Zoo. The Colonnade's restaurant -- the ebar -- was recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2010 for its authentic Spanish tapas and cocktail menus.

    The Americana Hotel

The Americana Hotel is located just over 400 yards from Lord's Cricket Ground and is within minutes from several other major attractions including Madame Tussauds. It is also close to numerous public transport links. The interior of the Georgian townhouse hotel was refurbished in 2006, while its brick facade and wrought-iron balconies retain their classic elegance. Complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate is provided in the airy, plushly furnished lobby all day. Guests also enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast daily.
