Hotels Near Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Hotels near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., concentrated in Foggy Bottom and on Pennsylvania Avenue, are priced in the moderate to high-end range. Shops, dining and attractions are within easy walking distance. Memorial Bridge crosses the Potomac River behind the Lincoln Memorial, providing access to the moderately priced hotels and motels in Northern Virginia.

State Plaza Hotel

The moderately priced all-suites State Plaza Hotel is on the campus of George Washington University a few blocks from the National Mall. The Lincoln Memorial and Foggy Bottom Metro station are a few blocks away in opposite directions. Suites have fully equipped kitchens and high-speed Internet access. The hotel’s F Street Bistro, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serves American cuisine with Asian and European accents. State Plaza Hotel’s DC Tour Package includes accommodations, breakfast and tour bus passes.

Doubletree Guest Suites

Doubletree Guests Suites, located in Foggy Bottom south of the Foggy Bottom Metro, is a few blocks farther away from the Lincoln Memorial than the State Plaza. The easy walk from the hotel to the Mall passes the State Department and the Albert Einstein Memorial. Large one- and two-bedroom suites have fully equipped kitchens, dining areas and walk-in closets. The hotel has no restaurant but does provide room service for breakfast and dinner. Several nationally recognized restaurants are nearby.

Willard InterContinental

The Willard, near the White House, is probably Washington’s most historic hotel. Built in 1818, the hotel has hosted literary giants, presidents and royalty over the years. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. completed the "I Have a Dream" speech at the Willard, and Mark Twain wrote two books there. The luxury hotel offers both standard rooms and suites with high-end amenities. At 3,000 square feet, the Thomas Jefferson Suite is the largest in the hotel. One of Washington’s best-loved seafood restaurants, the Occidental, is adjacent to the hotel.

The George Washington University Inn

Located on a residential street two blocks from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the George Washington University Inn offers standard rooms and suites. The hotel provides free high-speed Internet access in all rooms and gives guests complimentary passes for use at Bally’s Total Fitness. Guests receive a free room upgrade if larger accommodations are available at check-in. The Washington Post’s restaurant critic awarded Notti Bianche, the inn’s Italian-American restaurant, three stars.
