New York City's Hudson Street runs north and south from 14th Street near the Meat Packing District to Chambers Street in Tribeca. Chain and independent hotels are interspersed with the trendy boutique shops and restaurants along Hudson. Many of these hotels lie just off of Hudson and come in a range of styles and sizes.

Located at the corner of Broadway, Chambers and Hudson streets, Smyth offers modern sophistication in elegant surroundings. The hotel draws its design inspiration from the trendy surroundings exhibited throughout the Tribeca neighborhood. Each of the 100 guest rooms has modern decor with walnut-colored furnishings and chrome trim; all rooms have marble bathrooms, LCD TVs and DVD players. The hotel's French-inspired restaurant serves brasserie-style dishes like steak au poivre and pasta printemps for lunch and dinner. The lobby bar serves cocktails in Brazilian modernist-style surroundings.

The hotel's 391 guest rooms and suites feature decor and furnishings by the Italian high-fashion house Fendi. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, deep soaking tubs, flat-screen televisions and espresso machines. For recreation, the hotel offers a Turkish-style spa, outdoor swimming pool and fitness center; guests may arrange for a personal trainer to assist them with their workout.

The Greenwich Hotel

Owned by actor and New Yorker Robert De Niro, The Greenwich Hotel puts guests in the western side of Tribeca, one block from both the Hudson River and Hudson Street. This Old-World-inspired hotel has just 88 rooms, filled with internationally influenced decor like Tibetan silk rugs, Moroccan tile, Italian Carrara marble and English leather settees. Amenities like iPod docking stations and HDTVs add a touch of modernity to the surroundings. The on-site restaurant cooks fine Italian cuisine in an open kitchen in full view of the guests. The indoor swimming pool exudes a Japanese-inspired atmosphere.
