Hotels Near Disneyland, CA

by Christina Hamlett

You will find no shortage of hotels within easy walking and driving distance for a stay and play vacation at Disneyland. Many of these accommodations provide Disneyland shuttle service as well as budget-friendly amenities such as free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast and discount ticket packages for admission to other Southern California attractions such as Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios.

Disney Resorts

Disney owns three upscale properties adjacent to the amusement park. At Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier and Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, you'll not only enjoy "Magic Morning" early admission to Disneyland on selected dates, but also will get access to the hotels' on-site fitness facilities, business centers, recreation areas and concierge services. The trio's suites come with fully equipped kitchens as well as restaurant and shopping discounts at Downtown Disney. Vacation package specials include accommodations, theme park tickets, preferred seating at shows and commemorative souvenirs.

Suite Deals

A welcome beverage will await you upon your late-afternoon or evening arrival at Embassy Suites Anaheim. This family-friendly chain offers guests free breakfasts, a coin-operated laundry facility, a snack shop for quick treats, an exercise room and a swimming pool. If you rise and shine at Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate, you can indulge in a free breakfast buffet or cook something in your room with purchases from the hotel's on-site market. Discount rates are available for AAA members, seniors and members of the military. Portofino Inn and Suites provides all-inclusive vacation packages for discounted park-hopper tickets (Disneyland and California Adventure), gift cards for IHOP breakfasts and e-mail specials with room rates starting from $79 as of 2010.

Pets Welcome

Although you're not permitted to leave family pets unattended in your room or allow them to run off-leash on the premises, Towneplace Suites and Sheraton Anaheim are two venues that don't mind if you bring along your well-behaved furry pal. Both hotels, however, request that you let them know you are bringing a pet when you make your reservations. This will verify a pet-friendly room is available and that you are in compliance with hotel policies on size restrictions. Pet owners are responsible for clean-up in addition to any damage done during their stay. Sheraton provides special beds for canine guests. Visitors to Towneplace Suites must provide their own.

Budget Hotels

Hotel Pepper Tree is easy on the wallet with its extended-stay discounts, manager's special rates, a $6 per family/per night hot breakfast every morning of your stay, and a kids-eat-free program with the purchase of every adult meal at the hotel's on-site restaurant. The rooms in this boutique hotel feature full kitchens, Wi-Fi service for a one-time charge of $5 as of 2010, free parking and an outdoor heated pool with barbecue set-ups. For bargain-hunters seeking a no-frills stay within a block of Disneyland, Anaheim Islander Inn and Suites features two-bedroom family accommodations for up to eight guests. Refrigerators, microwaves, free HBO, complimentary breakfast, parking and a year-round heated swimming pool round out the amenities.
