Holiday Inn Express Columbia East – Elkridge Hotel

Holiday Inn Express, located near the Timbers at Troy Golf Club and Gateway Business Park, is just off I-95 about 12 miles from Baltimore and 20 miles from Washington. The four-floor hotel has both standard rooms and suites and allows smoking in some rooms. Pets other than service animals are not allowed. Pazani Trattoria Italiana, within walking distance of the hotel, serves Italian food in a casual atmosphere and has an extensive to-go menu.

The Inn at Peralynna Manor

Located west of Columbia near Hobbits Glen Golf Course, the Inn at Peralynna Manor is a luxury bed and breakfast located in a home modeled after a German mansion. Winner of numerous awards, including Best Inn in the US by Arrington’s in 2003 and Best of Baltimore in the bed-and-breakfast category in 2010, the house has common rooms with soaring ceilings and antique furnishings. Villa suites have Jacuzzi tubs and showers hidden behind glass block walls. Breakfast includes a cold buffet and hot items made to order.

Studio Plus Deluxe Studios

This budget-friendly extended-stay hotel, located southeast of Columbia near I-95, offers large studios with fully equipped kitchens. The hotel accommodates guests for one night even though it’s geared toward longer stays. Almost a dozen chain restaurants are nearby, including Red Lobster, Panera and Olive Garden. Some rooms are pet friendly for an additional daily fee. Because this is an extended-stay property, daily housekeeping isn’t provided unless guests pay extra for full service, which includes cleaning, or refresh service, which provides clean towels and toiletries.

Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel

Sheraton Columbia Town Center, on the shore of Lake Kittamaqundi, offers guests with allergies Pure Allergy Friendly rooms. Pure rooms have micro-fiber pillowcases and mattress covers, medical-quality air purifiers and heaters treated with tea tree oil. The hotel claims these methods remove 99.9% of allergens in the rooms. The hotel’s Waterside Restaurant, overseen by executive chef Kenny Johnson, is an upscale eatery open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pets are welcome at Sheraton Columbia.
