Hotels Near Clinton Square in Syracuse, New York

Considered the center of Syracuse, New York, Clinton Square is an historical area right in the heart of downtown. Staying in this section of the city will put you right in the center of the action, where many of the city's events are held. There are a variety of hotels around Clinton Square in neighboring areas such as Armory Square.


In the winter months, Clinton Square hosts an ice skating rink, allowing locals and visitors to skate in the heart of the city. Throughout the remainder of the year, many of Syracuse's biggest events are located in Clinton Square, so by staying near the area, you'll be able to enjoy events such as the New York State Rhythm and Blues Festival and The Great Syracuse Oktoberfest without ever having to step into a car.

Jefferson Clinton Hotel (Hawthorn Suites)

This 11-story, all-suite hotel is in Armory Square, just a few blocks' walk from Clinton Square. The hotel bears a lot of history, dating back to 1927. The suites in the hotel include high-end appointments such as 42-inch plasma televisions, full kitchens, mini-bars and DVD players. An overnight stay includes a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast. According to the property, there are more than 50 restaurants and pubs within about six blocks, and the hotel offers dining packages with several of the local restaurants.

The Parkview Hotel

A downtown Syracuse hotel minutes from Clinton Square in the University Hill neighborhood, the Parkview Hotel combines a comfortable, homey feel with chic, upscale rooms. When you walk in the door, you'll be greeted by a cozy lobby with a large, roaring fireplace -- the perfect place to read a book, watch TV or play a game with family and friends. The boutique hotel describes the atmosphere as "contemporary meets art-deco" and states that it has the largest rooms in downtown. The property has king rooms, double rooms and suites and offers guests a 24-hour business center, laundry service and coffee bar with light breakfast, lunch and dinner items. The hotel overlooks Foreman Park.

Crowne Plaza

Right on the same block as the Parkview, the Crowne Plaza Syracuse is another high-end hotel property in the middle of downtown. The hotel's 279 rooms offer appointments and services such as flat-screen high-definition televisions, complimentary Internet access and room service. The property also has suites with living rooms and wet bars. On site, Redfield's, an American bistro, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the Library Lounge serves drinks and light fare in a pub-style atmosphere.
