Hotels & Motels by Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida

Full Sail University advertises a “real world” education in the film and entertainment industries. Students participate in hands-on projects throughout their education, learning in the studio rather than simply through traditional classroom lectures. The nationally syndicated Daily Buzz morning news show has broadcast from Full Sail since 2007. Full Sail is located in Winter Park, Florida, an upscale suburb of Orlando.

Traditional Hotels

Traditional hotels are plentiful throughout the Orlando area, encompassing both major international chains and smaller independent properties. The Holiday Inn Select UCF is located just five-and-a-half miles from Full Sail. The property was certified green by the state of Florida, and offers outdoor activities including a swimming pool and lakeside jogging trail. All guest rooms provide complimentary Internet and work desks. Another option is the Sonesta Orlando Downtown, in downtown Orlando approximately five miles from Full Sail. The Sonesta is a bit plush, featuring spacious guest rooms, meeting space and a Club Floor with a private lounge.

The Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport is convenient for those flying into town, and is only 10.5 miles from Full Sail. The nonsmoking hotel offers complimentary airport shuttle service 24 hours per day. All guest rooms offer a separate living area and a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator. Ask for the Full Sail rate, which, as of 2010, includes a full breakfast. The Comfort Suites Downtown is a less expensive alternative, located less than five miles from Full Sail. All rooms have a separate living area with a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. The Comfort Suites is a designated green property by the state of Florida.

Extended Stay

Extended-stay choices are designed to be somewhat more home-like than a traditional hotel, and are a great choice for those staying long term. The Marriott TownePlace Suites offers studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. All units have full kitchens and separate living areas. A BBQ area, heated pool and fitness center provide a community feel. The Crestwood Suites is a budget option, featuring studio-style guest rooms with kitchenettes. Both alternatives are within five miles of Full Sail.

Budget Options

Those looking for a basic hotel at a budget price find multiple alternatives. The La Quinta Inn Winter Park is less than five miles from Full Sail. The five-story property offers clean and comfortable basic accommodations. Parking and wireless Internet are free, as is an expanded continental breakfast. The hotel has a fitness center and small business center, and pets are welcome. The Days Inn North Orlando is located in the suburb of Fern Park, a 10-minute drive from Full Sail. Guest room amenities include sofa beds and kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves. Pets are welcome for an additional fee. All rooms offer complimentary wired high-speed Internet, with wireless available in some sections of the hotel. Free hot breakfast is provided.
