Tourists who walk or bike around the island, which sits on Lake Huron, will see limestone bluffs and caverns. Although vacation homes serve as popular accommodations for visitors, Mackinac Island also features hotels with recreational facilities such as seasonal outdoor swimming pools. Many of these hotels offer amenities for families, such as planned outdoor activities for children.
