Hotels for Kids in Arizona

Arizona features a vast array of natural features, including mountain ranges and saguaro-filled deserts. While the southern regions primarily offer desert terrain, the central and northern sections have pine forests and four seasons in elevated communities. Arizona has hotel for kids in practically every region. They include chain hotels with standard amenities, extended stay furnished lodgings and resorts with unlimited recreational facilities. Kids can enjoy on-site recreation or leave the property and explore mountain ranges and forests.

Tucson (Old West Country)

JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa sits on 220 acres overlooking the Sonoran Desert and the Tucson Mountains. Its Nickelodeon Getaway packages consist of breakfast with Nickelodeon characters, poolside games and Nickelodeon-themed games and movies. The pool area offers the Starr Canyon lazy river, Monsoon Falls Water Slide and reflection pools. All rooms have Internet access. Select suites have two bedrooms and parlors with sofa beds. Loews Ventana Canyon Resort features views of Coronado National Forest’s Santa Catalina Mountains. Loews kid’s amenities include Fisher-Price welcome gifts, games and children’s menus. Its Family Fun Package consists of discounts on a second room, free meals for kids under 12 and discounts at Tucson family attractions. Recreational amenities include two pools, lighted tennis courts and sports equipment rentals. All accommodations have LodgeNet on-demand movies, 24-hour room service and eco-friendly bath products.

River Country

The Nautical Beachfront Resort, Arizona’s only all-beachfront resort, sits on a 26-acre property in Lake Havasu City. The resort is a mile from London Bridge, constructed the in late 1100s/early 1200s. When England constructed a new bridge in the mid-20th century, the bridge was transported to Lake Havasu. Its Kids Zone Water Park has a sandy beach, inflatable water toys and slides. The Turtle Grill resembles an island restaurant offering covered and open dining areas. It serves pizza, pasta and coffee drinks. Rooms have balconies overlooking the beach, private boat ramps and cable television. TownePlace Suites Yuma offers studio, one- and two-bedroom accommodations with fully equipped kitchens, living rooms with sofa beds and Internet access. Nickelodeon Your Stay packages give kids Nickelodeon activity books, bags with sunglasses, Build Your Own SpongeBob and splash ball. Hotel amenities include laundry facilities, restaurant delivery and hot breakfast.

Grand Canyon Country/Central Territory

The Radisson Woodlands Flagstaff Hotel is on historic Route 66, and the lobby features Italian marble and granite, hand-carved teakwood art and a wood-burning fireplace. Its Flagstaff Family Bed and Breakfast includes deluxe accommodations and full breakfast in the café or in rooms. The hotel also provides Grand Canyon vacation packages. The hotel has an outdoor seasonal pool, room service, fitness room and sushi restaurant. Select rooms have two televisions, microwaves and mini-refrigerators. Residence Inn Prescott is located between downtown Prescott, Chino Valley and Prescott Valley. The hotel offers Nickelodeon Your Stay packages and packages for trips to the Grand Canyon. It offers fully equipped suites with kitchens and furnishing. The hotel’s pool area has a heated pool, kiddie pool, fire pit and barbecue area. It also offers a grocery shopping service.

Trip Planning

The Arizona Office of Tourism website has a tool called Create and Map Your Trip. Visitors create a profile, adding the kinds of amenities they want at their hotels, directions to hotels and package deals. The website lists vacation packages that may not be listed on the hotel’s website.
