Hotels in Irvine

Accommodations in Irvine, California, a planned community in central Orange County approximately an hour's drive from Los Angeles, allow guests easy access to the Pacific Ocean, the county airport and theme parks in Buena Park and Anaheim. Irvine is home to a branch campus of the University of California and the large business, dining and shopping complex at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Visitors to these Irvine locations have a choice of both budget and luxury hotel accommodations.

University Hotels

The University of California, Irvine, occupies a central location in the city on land donated by the Irvine Company in 1960. Guests to the university have a choice of hotels, including the Atrium Hotel on MacArthur Boulevard. The Atrium offers regular shuttle service between the university and the hotel, in addition to a full breakfast buffet and free parking. The SpringHill Suites, a Marriott Irvine hotel, offers guests a complimentary breakfast, business center, free parking and a putting green. The SpringHill Suites also offers a complimentary shuttle service to the university.

Irvine Airport Hotels

The Orange County/John Wayne International Airport is adjacent to Irvine in Newport Beach, and the Marriott Irvine John Wayne Airport, Hilton Irvine Orange County Airport and Crown Plaza Hotel Irvine-Orange County Airport are all located just minutes away. All offer shuttle service to the county airport. The Marriott features complimentary breakfast, a business center, choice of 485 rooms and suites and four concierge levels. The Hilton Irvine offers access to an Olympic-size pool and an on-site fitness center. The Crown Plaza offers an on-site fitness center, hot tub, indoor swimming pool, golf green, sauna and spa.

Irvine Spectrum Hotels

The Irvine Spectrum Center features 130 retail stores, movie theaters and restaurants and two Irvine hotels provide free shuttle service to the center. The Doubletree Hotel Irvine Spectrum offers an outdoor swimming pool, business center and secretarial and laundry services. Guests have access to the hotel's fitness room and room service. On-site dining includes the Mertiage Restaurant and Wine Bar for all meals, and there are local eateries just minutes from the hotel. The Residence Inn Irvine Spectrum, a Marriott property, features complimentary breakfast buffet and a social hour on select evenings. Dining is not available on site at the Residence Inn. Guest rooms feature a choice of 112 suites with fireplaces on two floors.

Luxury Irvine Hotels

The AAA four-star Hyatt Regency Irvine offers a choice of 536 view rooms, access to a state-of-the-art gym, complimentary bicycle rentals, tennis courts and a fitness concierge. On-site dining includes the 6ix Park Grill, bar8, Jamboree Cafe and The Cafe for a choice of formal or casual fare. The Fairmont Newport Beach carries a Newport Beach mailing address but is on MacArthur Boulevard near Irvine in an area that defines the boundary between the two cities. The luxury Fairmont allows easy access to the county airport and the central Irvine business district. Accommodations at the Fairmont include a courtesy shuttle to shopping at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza and to beach entertainment and dining on Balboa Island in Newport Beach. On-site dining includes the bambú Restaurant and Lounge and seasonal food service at the hotel's Palms Pool.
