The market town of Horncastle is in the English county of Lincolnshire, some 20 miles from the county seat, Lincoln, which features a well-preserved Norman castle. The seaside resort of Skegness, with long, sandy beaches, is a 30-minute drive east of Horncastle. The town is a center for the antiques trade, and an outdoor market is held every Thursday and Saturday, selling everything from lingerie to locally made cheese.
