Glendale, Arizona, primarily draws football fans coming to see the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and Tostitos Fiesta Bowl games. Glendale has more than 10,000 hotel rooms that include award-winning hotels and chain hotels located within walking distances of sports arenas and downtown attractions. Glendale does not have as many mountains as nearby Phoenix; however, it offers miles of desert hiking and biking trails. Hotel guests may also take self-guided tours of Xeriscape Botanical Garden’s more than 1,000 plants.

AAA Four Diamond

Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa is Glendale’s only AAA Four-Diamond Award hotel, offering breathtaking views of orange skies glistening behind the mountains. The hotel’s interior creates a warm, inviting atmosphere with dashes of oranges and yellows showcased through the property. Spa Botanica contains nine treatment rooms, relaxation lounges and outdoor treatment areas. Guest rooms feature Marriott’s Jack Pack, and an entertainment and work center with high-definition television and laptop hookups. Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa is 10 miles from Glendale in Litchfield Park and features a landscaped, tree-lined property with the smell of citrus trees and fragrant flowers wafting through the air. The Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa offers couples treatment rooms, six massage rooms and a hot tub. The hotel has nine tennis courts, 54 golf holes, three pools and concierge service. Its casitas feature adobe-style architecture, while select accommodations offer whirlpool tubs, living rooms and fireplaces.

Extended Stay Hotels

Staybridge Suites Phoenix-Glendale offers accommodations to visitors on an extended business or leisure vacation, or individuals relocating to the area. It accepts pets up to 50 lb. for a nonrefundable fee. Management allows bigger dogs on a case-by-case basis. Suites offer full kitchens with cooking and dining ware, wireless Internet and sofa beds. Hotel amenities include a convenience store, a car rental desk, an outdoor pool and fitness center. Residence Inn Phoenix Glendale Sports & Entertainment District is the home of the Phoenix International Raceway and the University of Phoenix Stadium. Its suites have full kitchens with stainless steel appliances, living rooms with sofa beds and cable television. Select suites have fireplaces. Hotel amenities include grocery shopping, limousine service, room service and a concierge desk.

Pet-Friendly Hotels

Ramada at Arrowhead Mall is located at Arrowhead Towne Center, a shopping center with more than 200 stores and restaurants. This property accepts pets up to 25 lb. for a daily fee; however, pets are only allowed in smoking rooms. Guest rooms have mini refrigerators and free wireless Internet. Hotel amenities include laundry facilities, an outdoor swimming pool and fitness center. Best Western Inn & Suites of Sun City is located approximately six miles from Glendale. The hotel does not have restrictions on size and number of pets allowed in rooms, and does not charge a fee, although staff may impose restrictions for larger pets. The hotel has a three-level sun deck, outdoor heated pool, a full hot breakfast, and snacks and coffee in the lobby. It offers special rooms for pet owners with Internet access and refrigerators.
