Hotels Close to Walt Disney World

If you're planning a vacation to Disney World and want to stay outside the park, accommodations are located nearby in Orlando, Florida. Many Orlando resorts are on International Drive where the Orange County Convention Center is located. Some hotels provide a shuttle service to and from Disney World, making it possible for you to leave your car in one place the entire stay, while other hotels in Orlando are located mere steps from the entrance.

Hotels next to Walt Disney World

A three-minute walk from Walt Disney World, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is surrounded by a lake and a 45-acre golf course. The 815 rooms consist of soothing tones of blue and tan. Rooms offer private balconies, iPod docks, Internet access and a small sitting area. The hotel's outdoor swimming pool is approximately one-half acre and is surrounded by a cascading waterfall and tropical foliage. Additional hotel amenities include outdoor tennis courts, a private beach and water equipment rentals. Hemingway's, located on the property, is decorated with photographs of Ernest Hemingway and prepares seafood dishes. The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek borders the Walt Disney World property and is within two miles of Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's EPCOT. Guest rooms include queen- or king-size beds, Internet access, down pillows and mini-refrigerators; some rooms provide views of Walt Disney World. Six on-site restaurants, a beauty salon and a swimming pool add to the resort's amenities.

Villa-style Hotel

The smoke-free WorldQuest Orlando Resort is approximately one mile from the entrance to Walt Disney World. The villa accommodations are decorated in warm earth tones with tiled floors and orange accent colors throughout. The spacious rooms contain whirlpool bathtubs, private screened-in balconies, full-kitchens and separate living rooms. If traveling with a larger group, two-bedroom suites are available. The hotel features a number of amenities such as a hot tub, a convenience store and an outdoor pool surrounded by lush vegetation. The hotel is located near additional tourist attractions including Universal Studios and Sea World, both less than 11 miles away.

Hotels on International Drive

Open since 1986, the Peabody Hotel on International Drive is a luxury accommodation with marble floors, waterfalls, guest rooms with warm browns and soft green hues, and orchid flowers throughout. Rooms provide mini-refrigerators, oversize windows with city views, Internet access and living areas. The on-site Capriccio Grill provides a menu with seafood, pasta and steak dishes. Walt Disney World is 10 miles away. The smoke-free Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando offers a game room, a playground and an outdoor swimming pool. The gold- and red-hued rooms include kitchenettes separated from bedrooms by stained-wooden sliding doors, pillow-top mattresses and free Internet access. An on-site deli market is open 24-hours and serves light snacks. The hotel provides discounts to active military families. The hotel is approximately 11 miles from the entrance to Walt Disney World.

Hotels with Shuttle Service

The bright yellow Howard Johnson Tropical Palms Kissimmee provides a shuttle service to each of the theme parks in Walt Disney World. This three-story hotel offers guest rooms with private balconies and complimentary Internet access. Hotel amenities include a kiddie pool, an outdoor swimming pool and a game room. A Steak 'N Shake is connected to the hotel. The hotel does charge a small fee for the shuttle service. As of November 2010, the fee was $4.82. Walt Disney World is 15 miles from the hotel. Located on 10 private acres, the Imperial Swan Hotel and Suites provides complimentary shuttle service to and from Walt Disney World. The 356 rooms are decorated with white furnishings, floral bedding and patterned chairs. Room amenities include small sitting areas and complimentary newspapers. Two swimming pools, a poolside tiki bar and a gift shop are located on the hotel's grounds. The Sidewalk Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and prepares pizza, salads and sandwiches. The hotel is less than 17 miles from Walt Disney World.
