Hotels Close to the Pier in Daytona Beach, FL

by Nannie Kate

The pier in Daytona Beach goes by several names: the Main Street Pier, Daytona Beach Pier and Sunglow Pier. This iconic landmark attracts visitors who come to fish from the pier and to dine at the restaurant that sits near the end of the pier. The pier and the boardwalk behind it form the hub of Daytona's beach community, and if you want accommodations near this action, you have several hotels from which to choose.

Daytona Beach Regency

When visitors stay at the Daytona Beach Regency, located just a couple minutes north of the pier, they can walk down the beach to have lunch on the pier. Crabby Joes offers an extensive breakfast menu plus burgers, wings and seafood for lunch and dinner. The Regency, an all-suites hotel, offers one- and two-bedroom units with full-service kitchens. Relax in one of the two swimming pools or two jetted tubs. Grab a pizza snack while lounging poolside at the tiki-style bar. If you're in the mood for a steak dinner, try Sapporo's Japanese Steakhouse where your chef prepares your dinner on the grill at your table. Sushi is available here as well.

Comfort Inn and Suites

The four honeymoon suites at the Comfort Inn come with jetted whirlpool tubs. The guest rooms, efficiency units and suites of Comfort Inn lie either city side or ocean side. Drop in to the Starlite Diner, a reproduction of the old railroad car eateries, for standard diner fare. Enjoy their full breakfast any time of day or select soup, sandwiches or entrée plates. Top off your meal with an ice cream concoction. Wet your whistle and socialize at Robbie O'Donell's Pub close by.

Wyndham Ocean Walk

Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort offers luxury suites of one to three bedrooms. Cook your own meals in the completely equipped kitchen that comes with the units. The resort has five pools, a water slide, a lazy river, putt-putt golf and a game room for the kids. The Ocean Walk Shoppes next door offers several dining opportunities, including Johnny Rocket's, Bubba Gump, and Quiznos. A block from the hotel you will find the Ocean Center event venue, well within walking distance. For prime beef and seafood, visit Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse Restaurant nearby.

Super 8 Daytona Beach Oceanfront

Located just south of the Main Street Pier, Super 8 Daytona Beach Oceanfront gives budget hunters an option for beach accommodations. Some of the rooms have a whirlpool tub. Choose an efficiency unit and prepare your own meals, or opt for authentic pit barbecue up the street at Hog Heaven. Walk to the Daytona Boardwalk at the foot of the Daytona Pier, ride go-karts, play in the arcades and enjoy a meal at Pizza King, located on the boardwalk. If you want to go fishing, check out the bait and tackle shop on the pier, where you can rent a fishing pole and get all the bait you will need.
