From pet-friendly to lakefront, Chicago offers many hotels with whirlpools.

Whether you're visiting Chicago and staying in a boutique hotel with smaller rooms or a pet-friendly accommodation with your favorite canine, being able to reminisce about the vacation in the hotel's whirlpool can be a relaxing way to finish out the day. Some of Chicago's hotels provide whirlpools in the privacy of your guest room; others are located by the swimming pool.

Pet-friendly Hotels

The pet-friendly Hotel Allegro provides pet massages, pet beds, bowls and dog walking. Hotel rooms include iPod docks, whirlpools in designated rooms, free Internet, full-stocked bars and multiline phones. It offers an on-site fitness center with free-weights and cardiovascular machines, a business center and daily newspaper delivery. The hotel is three miles from the Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium on South Michigan Avenue. The 27-story Residence Inn Chicago allows pets for a one-time fee. The 270 rooms feature sofa-beds, full kitchens and wet bars. Hotel amenities include a whirlpool, indoor swimming pool, complimentary wine and beer, and laundry facilities. The casual on-site restaurant, Hub 51, offers sandwiches, burgers and salads. A complimentary breakfast is available at the hotel restaurant, The Gatehouse.

Lakefront Hotels

The AAA three-star Embassy Suites Chicago is just one mile from Millennium Park and Navy Pier. The two-room guest rooms, decorated in warm Earth tones of tans and reds, include living areas, mini-refrigerators and microwaves. A whirlpool, fitness center and indoor swimming pool add to the leisure activities. Open daily, the hotel's on-site restaurants, P.J. Clarke's, is open for lunch and dinner and prepares a varied menu of grilled cheese, meatloaf and burgers. The lakefront 30-story Ritz-Carlton Hotel includes 434 guest rooms decorated in soft hues of whites, tans and grays. Rooms offer free Internet, private bars, robes and DVD players; designated rooms offer private whirlpools and kitchens. Coloring books, children's menus and homemade cookies are available for younger guests. The hotel is less than a three-minute walk from the John Hancock Tower and Water Tower Place.

Michigan Avenue Hotels

Spend the evening relaxing at the Omni Chicago Hotel's whirlpool, indoor pool or one of two sundecks. The 347 suite rooms feature Internet access, living areas, refreshment centers and robes. For younger guests, the Omni Sensational Kids Program includes lists of area family attractions, children's books and games. Cafe 676 is located on-site, offering a menu ranging from raspberry tart, to chicken salad and a white bean burger. The Hilton Chicago, located on South Michigan Avenue and directly across from Grant Park, provides a public whirlpool and private whirlpools in designated guest rooms. The 1,544 rooms offer minibars, Internet access and sofa beds. Hotel amenities include a sundeck, indoor swimming pool, salon and jogging track. The hotel's Irish-style restaurant, Kitty O'Sheas, prepares shepherd's pie, burgers and pasta dishes.

Boutique Hotels

The four-story Best Western Hawthorne Terrace, within two miles from Lincoln Park Zoo, provides 83 guest rooms with free Internet, black-out drapes, refrigerators and microwaves. Hotel services range from a whirlpool, to an on-site fitness room and complimentary breakfast. The Seneca Hotel and Suites offers guest rooms with satellite TVs, free Internet and dining and living areas; five designated rooms include whirlpools. Hotel amenities include valet parking, sun deck, nail salon and fitness center. The hotel provides three restaurants. Francesca's on Chestnut prepares pasta dishes inspired from the Tuscan Region of Italy, Saloon Steakhouse provides seafood and steak dishes and the casual Chestnut Street Cafe offers sandwiches, soups and light meals.
