Hotels in Brooksville, Florida

by Lisa Fritscher

Brooksville, Florida is a small town in western Central Florida known primarily for mermaids. Weeki Wachee Springs was opened in the 1940s as a privately-owned roadside attraction, though it is now a state-owned facility. The underwater mermaid show has drawn visitors since 1946. Buccaneer Bay, a small water park, was added to the property in 1982. Rogers Christmas House, once a top draw, closed in 2010. Brooksville is small and safe, making virtually any area hotel convenient for visiting local attractions.
