The spectacular Oregon Coast encompasses some of the most dramatic ocean vistas in the United States. Along this coastal route are lighthouses, historic bayfronts, enormous rock-laden seascapes and miles of deserted, driftwood-strewn beaches. Count beach combing, tide pool explorations and whale-watching among the activities you can enjoy. Locally caught seafood, such as dungeness crab, is an regional specialty. Although much of the oceanfront is preserved by the presence of seven nearly contiguous state parks, numerous beachfront hotels along the coast offer outstanding accommodations.

Ocean Lodge

In Cannon Beach, home to the famous and iconic Haystack Rock, this beachfront lodge offers panoramic views from the desirable south end of Cannon Beach. Pet- and family-friendly, the Ocean Lodge features a mix of many relaxing elements. Adirondack deck chairs give you an easy vantage to watch the ocean; a library with a huge selection of books for young and old encourages the literary imagination; and games, such as bocce or croquet for outdoor play, are available, as is free movie viewing in all rooms.

Comfort Inn Newport

At the Comfort Inn Newport, at scenic Nye Beach, you can enjoy affordable accommodations in a family-friendly setting. Whirlpool tubs, cable TV, fridges and microwave ovens in every room are included in the amenities. Nearby, guests can access such recreation as hiking, cycling, golfing, sailing, fishing and horseback riding. The quaint town of Newport, a working fishing village, offers shops and seafood restaurants that specialize in same-day catches right off the boat.

The Inn at Spanish Head

The Inn at Spanish Head is a resort hotel right on the beach in Lincoln City. Whether you're staying in one of the 120 oceanfront rooms or enjoying the penthouse restaurant, you can watch the ocean tell its story all day with unobstructed views. All rooms offer balconies and most have full kitchens. There is also an outdoor heated pool, sauna, rec room and indoor ocean-view spa.

Hallmark Resort Newport

Newport, Oregon, is a scenic area fronting the immense Pacific Ocean to the west, framed by the Yaquina Head Lighthouse to the north, and the entry of Yaquina Bay to the south. From the Hallmark Resort Newport, watch sunrises and sunsets as the fishing fleets depart and return with their catch. Oceanfront accommodations offer in-suite spas and fireplaces. A heated, indoor saltwater pool, sauna, spa and fitness center are among the room amenities, which also feature balconies. The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi and daily newspapers.
