Hotels on the Beach in the Florida Keys

by Alison Merfeld

The Florida Keys is a strip of land that begins at the very southern tip past Miami, stretching west between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Many beachfront accommodations provide water activities and rentals during your stay. Some of the keys include Islamorada, a common fishing area that offers fishing charters and Key West, where you can dine at Ernest Hemingway's favorite bar, Sloppy Joe's.

Key West Hotels

A 10-minute-walk from the Key West Botanical Forest and Garden, the Hyatt Beach House Resort provides 74 two-bedroom condo-style accommodations. Rooms include screened-in balconies, free Internet and full-kitchens. The outdoor swimming pool is located in the center of the resort, surrounded by palm trees and steps from the private beach and additional loungers. The on-site SHORE American Grill is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a varied menu of lobster, burgers and sea scallops. Reservations are recommended. Home to the largest ballroom in Key West, the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the downtown area.
