With its charming seaside villages, sandy beaches, protected nature reserves and nightly "Penguin Parade," when the island's population of tiny penguins return to their sand dune homes, Phillip Island entices visitors from all over Australia and further afield. Tourists are catered to with more than 2,000 beds, according to Phillip Island Tourism. A diverse range of lodging options includes motels, apartments, home rentals, backpacker lodges, resorts, campgrounds and farm stays.

Koala Park Resort

The Koala Park Resort is located in the heart of Phillip Island and is adjacent to the Oswin Roberts Koala Reserve where you can explore a protected woodland habitat on foot. Its accommodation options consist of one- and two-bedroom motel units and two-bedroom log cabins that sleep up to eight people. On-site recreational facilities include tennis courts, a swimming pool and a volleyball net. Guests also have access to an undercover barbecue area.

The Continental Hotel

The Continental Hotel is a beachfront property facing a jetty where you can embark on luxury catamaran trips. The hotel offers a solar-heated seawater pool with a poolside barbecue for guests to use. Some standard rooms feature ocean views; others include an additional sofa bed and a refrigerator. The most spacious options are the executive spa rooms, which offer balconies with views of Western Point Bay and jetted bathtubs. The seafront Conti Bar and Grill specializes in steaks, ribs and burgers; room service is also available.

Silverwater Resort

Silverwater Resort sits on 17 acres of hilltop property, offering countryside and ocean views from the private balcony or terrace of every guest room and apartment. The resort offers 170 hotel-style guest rooms and spacious apartments with one to three bedrooms and full kitchens. They feature contemporary decor and amenities including LCD-screen televisions and high-speed Internet access, as well as movies on demand. The resort's recreational facilities include a free-form outdoor pool, a heated indoor lap pool and a steam room; tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; and billiards and table tennis rooms. Family-friendly facilities include a children's playground and playroom. The Watermark Restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers indoor and outdoor seating and a menu showcasing the fresh produce of the local region.

All Seasons Phillip Island Resort

The eco-friendly All Seasons Phillip Island Resort consists of 211 villas over 65 acres of scenic countryside in the middle of the island, just over a mile from beaches and the town of Cowes. The villas have one, two or three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens with high-end appliances and laundry facilities; the studio spa villas boast a private indoor hot tub. There are two restaurants at the resort: Numbers Restaurant and Bar, which offers both Australian and international dishes such as tapas plates, grilled lamb and fresh local fish; and a Pizzeria offering dine-in and take-out options to enjoy their wood-fired pizzas. A playground, toddler's pool and games room are provided for young guests. Other facilities include walking paths around the property, tennis courts, a gymnasium, an outdoor pool and a spa.
