Hotels in Asheboro, North Carolina

by Cicely A. Richard

Asheboro gets its nickname “Zoo City” from its main attraction, the North Carolina Zoo. The 500-acre zoo contains more than 1,000 animals in enclosures mimicking their natural habitat. Asheboro only has five hotels from which to choose, all part of nationally recognized chains. These hotels are less than six miles from the zoo and close to other attractions like the Richard Petty Museum. They offer basic amenities for travelers, including free Internet and swimming pools.
