Hotels near the airport with amenities like free shuttle service and free parking are plentiful for Sacramento visitors. Most options are the familiar, tried-and-true chains, but some provide extra touches like complimentary grab-and-go breakfast bags and full-size, fully stocked kitchens. Located just 10 to 20 minutes from downtown, hotels near Sacramento International Airport are convenient for tourists and business travelers alike.

Holiday Inn Express Sacramento Airport Natomas

Just 4.5 miles from the airport, this Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites is one of the closest options since the only on-site Sacramento International Airport hotel closed in June 2008. Free, 24-hour airport shuttle service makes travel to and from the airport a breeze. Upgrade to a suite if limited kitchen amenities, like mini-refrigerators or microwaves, are required. An on-site outdoor pool and business center are available. Park, stay and fly rates also are available for up to seven days.

Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Sacramento International Airport

Completed in 2007, the Four Points by Sheraton Sacramento International Airport location is a new entry on the scene. Light sleepers will like the soundproof rooms and Sheraton's trademark "Four Comfort" beds. Free airport transportation is available but might run on a limited schedule, so check with the property first to be certain the schedule is acceptable. Free high-speed wireless and a well-kept outdoor pool, plus a 24-hour business center, are available.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Sacramento Airport-Natomas

For travelers who prefer the convenience of a suite, Homewood Suites by Hilton's Sacramento Airport-Natomas location might fit the bill. With fully equipped kitchens that include full-size refrigerators, microwaves and stovetops -- plus cooking implements and dishware -- Homewood makes dining in easy. Like most Homewood Suites, a hot breakfast is included daily. Monday through Thursday guests also can enjoy a light meal and beverages during the property's "Welcome Home" early evening reception. A small, on-site sundry shop is helpful for picking up last-minute items.

Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento Airport Natomas

Hampton Inn & Suites is another suite hotel option within five miles of the Sacramento International Airport. While Hampton offers a free hot breakfast daily, its prepacked, grab-and-go bags available Monday through Friday mornings are a real perk. Visitors will find all the traditional amenities of a Hilton-owned property here: outdoor pool, business center and fitness room. Suites include a small kitchenette. The hotel is positioned about halfway between the airport and downtown Sacramento. Free airport shuttles are available.
