Located on the west side of L.A., Venice Beach, California, is known for its beachfront walkway, street performers, canals and outdoor weight-lifting area. A throwback to the beatnik era, Venice Beach welcomes travelers of all types, including those with four legs. Pets are welcome at some area lodging properties, though hotels with a Venice Beach address are limited and none accepts pets. There are pet-friendly hotels in neighboring Santa Monica and Marina del Rey.

As of 2010, dogs and cats under 30 lbs. are welcome in all rooms for an additional fee of $100 for up to seven days. The hotel offers a pet turndown service that includes a treat. As of October 2010, rates for this hotel began at $220 per night.

Le Merigot

The hotel, which is rated Four Diamonds by AAA, welcomes pets of any size with a $150 refundable deposit plus a $100 non-refundable deposit.
