New York is home to many hot rod shows around the state. Most of these shows take place during the summer. Hot rod owners participate in swap meets, hot rod shows and classic car shows. Most of the events are held on behalf of charities or are free events in local parking lots. Hot rod owners and those wishing to purchase hot rods find many cars for sale at shows and swap meets in New York.

The New York Auto Fest

The New York Auto Fest ( is a series of car shows held throughout the summer in various locations in New York. This auto show is open to hot rods and all other types of cars and all proceeds from the event go to local charitable organizations like Knights of Columbus and others. The entry fee for show cars is $20. Spectators pay $5 for admission and kids under the age of 12 are admitted free.

Long Island Car Show

The Long Island Car Show and Swap Meet ( is a show for a wide range of custom and collectible cars and hot rods. These cars, from vintage to exotic, are judged and awarded trophies for their entries. Collectors buy and sell cars throughout the show. Shows take place on Sundays during the summer in the towns of Farmingville, Elmont, Port Washington and Ronkonkoma. Auto vendors are on hand with parts, accessories and literature for sale.

Automotive Swap Meet

Rochester Street Rods ( hosts their annual automotive swap meet for hot rod and car enthusiasts in New York. This event is free and takes place in the parking lot of Rick's Prime Rib House in Rochester, New York. Hot rod and classic car owners are encouraged to bring their spare parts and car collectibles to trade for new ones. Pick up some new parts, meet new friends and show your hot rods and collectible cars for the day.

KSK Car Show

The KSK Car Show ( is sponsored by the Newark Senior High School. This car show includes a classic hot rod show and motorcycle show. The event features food, prizes, goodie bags and a swap meet. Raffles and car judging take place throughout the day. The show is held at the Newark High School in May, and is sponsored by local car dealerships and business owners. All proceeds from the show go to the Kelley School PTA.
