Hollywood, California, has its fair share of quality hotels, many of which feature guest suites for travelers who want more space and options than typical rooms provide. Price ranges will vary, from low-cost studio suites for budget-conscious travelers to large, luxurious apartment-style units for those who find cost irrelevant. Most suite hotels in Tinseltown also offer convenient access to area attractions, restaurants and highways, while providing amenities and services fit for a movie star.

Hollywood Orchid Suites

The two-diamond Hollywood Orchid Suites Hotel shares a block with the Hollywood & Highland mall complex and the famous Mann's Chinese Theater, where stars have forever emblazoned their digits in cement. Roomy apartment-size suites feature bedrooms with either one king or two queen beds, separate living area, dining table for four, and full kitchen with all the major appliances. Standard amenities include two cable televisions, free Wi-Fi access and generously sized closets with mirrored doors; some suites also feature balconies or decks with garden furniture. The fully secured property offers a 24-hour front desk, heated in-ground pool, rooftop patio, free subterranean parking, and a computer workstation with printer for business travelers. In addition, guests can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast each morning, while lunch and dinner spots like Trastevere Ristorante Italiano and the Hard Rock Cafe are within walking distance.

Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

Built in 1927, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is located in the heart of the city near Madame Tussaud's and the Hollywood Wax Museum. Suites may be on the pricier side, but the hotel is able to draw on its elegant decor and storied history as the home of the inaugural Academy Awards ceremony. King and cabana suites offer up to 750 square feet of space, with plush bedding and custom 400-thread-count linens, LCD flat-screen TVs, hardwood floors and mini-bars with Dean & DeLuca gourmet snacks. Additionally, terrycloth bathrobes and designer toiletries adorn the private bathroom, while some suites also have kitchenettes. Guests can enjoy unique property amenities like a swimming pool with a large underwater mural, a 1930s-style lobby bar, and a vaudevillian theater hidden behind a secret library bookcase. Extensive on-site dining options include a gourmet restaurant with international cuisines, a high-end burger joint and a classic steakhouse.

Comfort Inn & Suites

Travelers operating on a budget will appreciate the reasonably priced, 62-unit Comfort Inn & Suites, which is situated just minutes from Universal Studios Hollywood, the Los Angeles Zoo and the Griffith Observatory. Spacious, tastefully decorated suites feature a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, satellite TV, work desk, private safe, iron with board and individual climate controls. Both smoking and non-smoking suites are available as well as handicapped accessible accommodations. Guests can make use of property amenities such as wake-up calls, valet laundry service, ample car and truck parking, an outdoor pool with sundeck and copy/fax services. A free light breakfast is served daily, while restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen and Wolfgang Puck are directly adjacent to the property. No pets are allowed on the premises. In addition, Choice Privileges Rewards members can earn and redeem points here, good for free overnight stays.

Highland Gardens Hotel

The Highland Gardens Hotel is nestled in the world famous Hollywood Hills, offering convenient access to area attractions like the Sunset Strip, Pantages Theatre and Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Museum. Guests can choose between one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, each with ultra-soft queen beds, while amenities include a small kitchen, premium movie channels, private baths with shower/tub combination, high-speed wireless Internet connection, and direct-dial phones with voice mail capability. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk with a knowledgeable staff that can help out-of-towners navigate the area, while corporate travelers have access to multiple conference rooms and business services. Guests can lay around the tropical outdoor pool or take advantage of dry cleaning services, a fitness center and an airport shuttle. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate, and fashionable restaurants like Miceli's and Geisha House are close by.
