Hollywood Casino in Tunica, MS

The Hollywood Casino is part of the gambling-led revitalization of Tunica, Miss. Although the town is located in what traditionally was among America's poorest regions, the area has become known for its casinos since the first opened in 1994, making it one of America's premier gambling locations. The Hollywood Casino has 54,000 square feet of gambling action in a location 35 miles south of Memphis.

Casino Floor

The casino floor of the Hollywood Casino has more than 1,200 slot machines and more than 30 table games. The slot machines vary from penny-a-play machines to those where gamblers can wager $100 a spin. Among the more popular machines at Hollywood Casino are "Blackbeard's Doubloons," a pirate-themed game, and "Hot Shot," a slot machine with a progressive jackpot. Gamblers can play blackjack, craps, roulette and four different variants of poker in table games against other players. The Hollywood Casino is a 24-hour operation and has a "Club Hollywood" rewards program that allows frequent gamblers to collect points that can be redeemed for entry to special events or used for hotel room discounts.


Hollywood Casino has three restaurants. The Fairbanks Steakhouse is open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Among its notable items are grilled Atlantic red snapper, double-cut pork chops and prime rib of beef. The Epic Buffet is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday, serving a mix of international and local cuisine in an all-you-can-eat format. The Celebrity Grill is located on the casino floor, and serves classic grill restaurant fare such as steaks, ribs and hamburgers.


Hollywood Casino has an on-site hotel, the Hollywood Hotel. The hotel offers rooms in a five-story tower overlooking the casino floor and an eight-story tower next to the swimming pool. Amenities include free wireless Internet access, priority privileges to the River Bend Links Golf Course and Tunica National Golf Course and RV parking for 123 vehicles. For those wishing to stay off-site, the Once Upon A Time Bed and Breakfast (onceuponatimetunica.com) and the Royal Inn and Suites (royalinntunica.com) are within a short drive.

Traveling to Hollywood Casino

Visitors arriving at Memphis International Airport can get to the Hollywood Casino, about a 35-mile drive, by following the exit signs to Winchester Road and taking it to Third Street. Follow Third Street, which becomes U.S. 61 and leads to Tunica. Turn right at Casino Strip Resorts Boulevard from U.S. 61 and follow to the Hollywood Casino. If traveling from the south, take Interstate 55 north to State Highway 304 west, follow it for 18 miles and cross U.S. Highway 61, where State Highway 304 become Casino Strip Resorts Boulevard. Follow the road to the Hollywood Casino.
