Haunted Houses in Pierce County, Washington

These locations have different themes and target age groups that will appeal to nearly anyone during the Halloween season. Most of these locations are run by professional staff, but a couple are operated by property owners. Contact each location before visiting for operating hours and admission prices.     My Morbid Mind

    While not technically in Pierce County, My Morbid Mind (mymorbidmind.com) haunted house is nearby, just to the south in the town of Olympia, Washington. This haunted house is contained in a barn-like atmosphere. The haunted house is designed for people age 12 and older and cost $10 per person in 2011. The site uses sights, sounds, textures and pneumatic props as part of the frightful experience. The park is open weekends in October from 7 to 11 p.m.

    Theatrical Nightmare

    Theatrical Nightmare (theatricalnightmare.com) is in Fort Lewis, Washington, inside the city of Tacoma. This haunted house is hosted by theater professionals, and the entire event is designed with a play-like atmosphere including cast and guests in the frightening production. The house is designed like a classic horror film. The target age groups for this haunted house are teens and adults. The house is open Fridays and Saturdays in October from 7 to 10 p.m.

    Nightmare at Beaver Lake

    The Nightmare at Beaver Lake (nightmareatbeaverlake.com) is a haunted house located to the north of Pierce County in Sammamish, Washington. This full-scale haunted house has several different packages catering to different age groups. During the event, visitors travel through a haunted forest into a haunted house, where the tour is ended. The haunted house offers a family hour with less frightening experiences earlier in the evening, with the tour getting scarier later in the evening. Beaver Lake is open the weekend before Halloween and the weekend of Halloween each year.

    The Fright Factory

    The Fright Factory (frightfactory.net) is a large haunted house located in Buckley, Washington. This haunted house is designed for all ages and is themed after classic scares such as hospitals, clowns, ghosts and witches. The admission price is $9 per person as of 2011. The Fright Factory is open most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October from 7 to 11 p.m. Check ahead for show times before visiting the haunted house.
