The trumpet is a challenging musical instrument to play. Not only is it difficult to get the trumpet to make sound at all, but it is also challenging to hold down the correct pins to sound the correct notes. Many people play trumpet as children, but set it aside as they get older. Rather than get rid of the instrument, you can create another use for the trumpet by hanging it as a wall decoration. Use trumpet decorations year-round, or add some festive ribbons and use it as a holiday decoration.
Items you will need
- Stud finder
- Trumpet wall mount
- 3 inch screws
- Power screwdriver
- Ribbons (optional)
Locate the wall studs in the area where you want to hang the trumpet. Mark the placement of the studs with a pencil.
Position the mount so that the attachment points line up with the studs on the wall. Mark the placement of the screw holes on the wall with a pencil. You can hang the trumpet horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Screw the mount into the studs using a power screwdriver.
Slide the handle of the trumpet onto the mount pins. Position the trumpet so that it does not wobble to one side and will not slip off if you slam a door or bump the wall accidentally.
Decorate the trumpet with ribbons or streamers if you want to add a slightly more festive look to the instrument. You can even hang metallic streamers from the trumpet for additional flair. Fill the horn of the trumpet with flowers, ribbons, or Christmas greenery as a decorative piece.. This will soften the bold appearance of the trumpet.
