Go-Kart Racing in Atlanta, Georgia

    Many entertainment and family fun centers in the Atlanta area offer children and adults an opportunity to ride go-karts and participate in numerous other activities. Tracks are available both indoors and outdoors, and children must be a certain height to drive the go-karts. In some instances, go-kart drivers must have a driver's license.

    Malibu Northcross

    Located 20 miles from Atlanta in Northcross, the Malibu Grand Prix (malibugrandprix.com) features a go-kart track for visitors. In order to drive, individuals need to be at least 54 inches tall, long hair must be pulled back and closed shoes are required. Those who are 16 years of age and older and have a driver's license are also able to drive the Grand Prix cars, which are Indy-style race cars that have more power and speed. Other attractions at the venue include miniature golf, batting cages, bumper boats and game room.

    Dixieland Fun Park

    Dixieland Fun Park (dixielandfunpark.com) is located in Fayetteville, 22 miles from Atlanta, and offers two different race tracks for visitors. The Jr. Track is for individuals who are 50 inches tall and over, but children at least 44 inches tall can race with a parent. The more challenging Dixie Race Way is for drivers 56 inches tall and over. Other attractions at the amusement park include Screaming Eagle Coaster, Scrambler, The Great Plunge, Rough Rider, Drop Zone and Scream-N-Swing.

    Mountasia Family Fun Center

    Mountasia Family Fun Center (mountasia.com) is located less than 20 miles from Atlanta in Marietta and features a number of rides and attractions for visitors. The go-kart course features straight-aways and banked curves. While drivers need to be at least 54 inches tall, children who ride with an adult need to be 36 inches tall. Other rides and attractions at the venue include miniature golf, bumper boats, game room and batting cages.

    Andretti Indoor Karting and Games

    Located 15 miles from Atlanta in Roswell, Andretti Indoor Karting and Games (andrettikarting.com) features an indoor racing track with go-karts that reach 50 mph. An adult track and junior track are located on the premises. Drivers need to be 16 and have a valid driver's license for the adult track. The junior track requires that drivers be at least 8 years old and 48 inches tall. Other attractions and activities include a rock climbing wall, rope course, bowling and billiards.
