Fun Places to Throw a Party in Salisbury, Maryland

by Melissa Lewis

It's party time and you're looking for the right place to throw a fun party. Fortunately, Salisbury, Maryland, known as the "Crossroads of Delmarva," has many different venues on offer. Many places are geared toward kids, but don't fret. Adults will not have to search hard to find that perfect, fun place for their party either.

Coco's Funhouse

Coco's Funhouse is an indoor inflatable playground for kids. While the kids play, parents can relax at the tables or comfortable seating nearby. When called, kids and parents then head off to a party room where cake, pizza, and drinks are served. Several party packages are available. Each includes invitations, pizza and decorations, while ice cream and balloons are extra. Parents are responsible for bringing the cake.

Delmarva Shorebirds

Throw a small, informal party for a child or adult who loves baseball by taking him and his friends to a Shorebirds minor league game. Many game nights have specials to make the party more cost effective. For example, during the 2011 season, Monday nights were known as "Two Buck Mondays" when tickets and many food items were only $2. Pay a small fee to have a child's birthday announced over the loudspeaker and big screen. Outside food is not permitted in the stadium, so meet up at your home before or after the game to have cake and ice cream and to open presents, if you are celebrating a birthday.

Crown Sports Center

Just a few miles down Route 13 in Fruitland, Maryland, is Crown Sports Center where you can throw a party for kids or adults. Choose from among several party packages, including a laser tag party, arcade party or sports party. You can also combine party themes, if desired. Included in the party packages are sodas and paper products. You can also order other food items such as pizza in advance.

Other Venues

The Salisbury Zoo has a community room in which you can host a party for a fee. Several packages are available and include interactions with the zoo staff and animals. You can also throw a party at Cherokee Bowling Lanes in South Salisbury. Several playgrounds have picnic tables where you can host an outdoor party, including at Ben's Red Swings next to the zoo and the Jeanette P. Chipman Boundless Playground near Division Street. For teens or adults, host a party a local restaurant, such as Tokyo Steakhouse, where the chefs make your meal right at your table, or at Brew River, which offers fun outdoor seating by the river.
