Kicking camps in the state of Georgia are designed to instruct kickers and punters in how to kick with more strength and accuracy. These off-season camps prepare kickers and punters for the physical and mental challenges of the upcoming season. While colleges and universities offer kicking camps, private camps are available for junior high and high school athletes.

Camps

Premier Kicking Camp takes place in Calhoun, Georgia, and operates mini-camps throughout the off-season. The camp is operated by former NFL and college kickers and punters. Georgia Southern University also offers a kicking camp throughout the year, in addition to private instruction. To participate in the kicking camp at Georgia Tech University, campers need to bring a tee and football.

Instruction

The kicking camps in the state of Georgia are for punters, field goal kickers and snappers. While all camps provide athletes with on the field instruction, the Premier Kicking Camp provides them with video instruction. Video instruction offers athletes a chance to view themselves on tape and improve their kicking form and fundamental skills. On-field instruction includes live demonstrations, lectures, position drills and individualized instruction.

Schedule

Premier Kicking offers off-season day camps that last three to four hours. The mini camps are for kickers of all ages and skill levels. The Georgia Southern University kicking camp offers one-day camps in the spring and four-day residential camps in the summer. The residential camp is for athletes entering grades 6 through 12. A one-day camp is offered each June and July at Georgia Tech University for kickers entering grades 9 through 12.

Goals

The goal of the camps is to improve and develop kicking skills and ability. In addition to working on mechanics, kickers will also learn how to develop mental toughness so they can make high-pressure kicks during the season. Kickers also receive instructional hand-outs and drill sheets so they can continue to improve. This help kickers improve their kicking power and accuracy.
