Constructing folded paper flowers is a creative way to enhance a scrapbook's pizazz and appeal. The trick to folding paper flowers for scrapbooking is to begin folding at the outset. Fold and fan out each faux flower at the start of your craft-making process to prepare them for the continual pressure of the scrapbook cover. Once the paper flower is complete, it's ready to insert into any page of the scrapbook without fear of crushing it in the process.

Items you will need

  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Colorful crepe paper, 4 inches by 4 inches
  • Black crepe paper, 1 inch by 1 inch
  • Permanent epoxy
  • Cotton swab
  • Perfume
Step 1

Measure and cut a colorful piece of crepe paper to 4-inch-by-4-inch dimensions.

Step 2

Lay out the crepe paper onto a flat surface. Fold one edge of the paper up and 1/4 inch in toward the center. Fold the same edge under the paper 1/4 inch in toward the center. Continue this repetitive folding pattern until the tissue forms a 1/4-inch-long, accordion-like rectangular line. Choose different color paper for different flowers.

Step 3

Hold the accordion-like rectangular line of crepe paper. Bend one end over the other to fold the line in half. Pinch and hold the center of the folded paper.

Step 4

Cut the paper at the bend to detach all ends of the crepe paper. Carefully tie a piece of floral wire around the center of the line to hold its shape.

Step 5

Slowly unfold each paper end into a fan-like pattern to form a large flower "petal." Fan until you have a flat, circular flower-like shape.

Step 6

Dab a small amount of permanent epoxy onto a cotton swab. Swab each loose end of paper. Press adjacent loose ends together and hold for 30 seconds to secure the petal shape.

Step 7

Measure and cut a piece of black crepe paper to 1-inch-by-1-inch dimensions.

Step 8

Ball up a small 1-inch-by-1-inch piece of black crepe paper to act as the center ovule of the flower. Bond the paper ball to the center of the flower with permanent epoxy.

Step 9

Lightly spray the petal with one faint squirt of perfume to give your scrapbook flower a luscious scent. Avoid saturating the petal to prevent damage to the crepe paper.

Step 10

Dab the backside of the flower -- at center -- with permanent epoxy. Press and hold to a scrapbook page for 30 seconds to secure the bond. Repeat steps 1 through 10 for additional flowers.
