Grover Beach is located in San Luis Obispo County on the central coast of California. The Oceano Dunes Recreational Area is the gateway to fun in the sun with a temperate climate that provides perfect weather for the area's annual festivals that attract both tourists and locals year-round.

Stone Soup

Ramona Garden Park hosts the Stone Soup Ethnic Music Faire each year on the last weekend in August. The challenging Dune Run-Run kicks off the festival with a 5K/10K walk/run across the wide expanse of hilly sand. Children can participate in hands-on activities at the Exploration Station Saturday and Sunday along with storytelling sessions and a variety show with acrobats and jugglers. Musicians provide a steady stream of feel-good tunes while various merchants and vendors offer their goods and sate your hunger. Free health screenings are offered Sunday afternoon from noon to 5 p.m.

Summer Concert Series

The summer concert series at Ramona Garden Park offers free live music by talented area bands every Sunday, all summer until late September. Vendors serve up food, beer and wine and county farmers provide locally grown fruits and vegetables in the lovely park setting. Admire the wares of local artists and craftsmen, then sink back into your lawn chair to bask in the summer sun as you listen to the soothing sounds of sweet songs and crashing surf.

9/11 Memorial Event

San Luis Obispo County commemorates the victims of 9/11 each year on the anniversary of that fateful day, at Ramona Garden Park. Local artists showcase their tributes, including memorial sculptures, drawings, paintings and scrapbooks. Patriotic music provides the proper ambiance, and there is a quiet time designated for remembrance and reflection, with a formal ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m.

Halloween Activities

Ramona Garden Park hosts a spooky gathering the Sunday before Halloween with a scary maze, costume parade, carnival games and an outdoor movie. Goodie bags and hot dogs are free for costumed children, and a carved pumpkin contest is open to children age 6 or younger.

Santa's Workshop

Santa's Workshop Fine Art and Craft Faire brings a unique element to Grover Beach each year in early December -- snow. Get into the holiday spirit with man-made snow, live entertainment, food, children's activities and lots of handmade crafts. A holiday tree lighting ceremony caps off the festivities at 5 p.m.
