Old Sacramento is a historical state park in Sacramento, California, and is a major tourist attraction, as it is filled with shops, museums and landmarks and an array of hotels. These hotels are generally feature the historical nature of their neighborhood, and are often frilly and fancy.

Delta King Hotel

Permanently anchoring the Sacramento River in downtown Old Sacramento is the Delta King, a historic riverboat converted into a AAA Three Diamond hotel. Sunlight and cream-and-gold color schemes illuminate the 44 state-rooms on the Delta King, and the many windows offer views of the sparkling city. The historic boat is also home to two restaurants -- the Pilothouse and the Delta Bar and Grill -- that serve fresh seafood, chicken, lamb, beef and specialty drinks. Live theater graces the Capital Stage, a small and intimate theater hosting contemporary and classic dramatic performances.

Le Rivage Hotel

Three miles from central Old Sacramento is the Le Rivage Hotel, a luxury hotel on the banks of the Sacramento River. Vintage Italian furnishings and a golden color scheme adorn the 100 boutique-style rooms, and amenities include marble bathroom counters, claw-footed bath tubs, rain shower. Over-sized in-room Jacuzzis, full wet bars, billiard tables and gas fireplaces are included in the Rivage's suites. The on-site Scott's Seafood on the River serves award-winning sea food in the hotel, and provides room service. Spa LaLé offers therapeutic treatments in their relaxation room.

Inn and Spa at Parkside

A couple of miles away from Old Sacramento is the Inn and Spa at Parkside, a boutique inn sitting on glamorously landscaped grounds, which is complete with an eight-person Jacuzzi sheltered by a gazebo. Each of the 10 guest room types offer distinct color choices, floor plans and furnishings. Skin and body treatments are available at the in-hotel spa from facials to massages.

The Citizen

A couple of blocks from Old Sacramento is The Citizen, a 198-roomed luxury boutique hotel by Joie de Vivre Hotels. Bold stripes of color adorn each of the stylized guest rooms and suites, and Apple computers and large TVs. The upper floors contain suites that feature historically-inspired decor, including tiled bathrooms and Italian linens. The hotel's on-site restaurant, The Grange, features Californian cuisine, made with local produce, and serves native wines. A package stay at The Citizen includes valet parking, a complimentary bottle of wine and a free three-course meal at the Grange.
