Downtown Gettysburg, PA Hotels

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is nicknamed “the most famous small town in America.” Hotels in downtown Gettysburg are within walking distance of city attractions, including the locations where Abraham Lincoln wrote and delivered the Gettysburg Address and Gettysburg National Military Park, a 6,000-acre site where 170,000 Americans fought during the Civil War. Numerous lodgings date back to colonial times and boast brick exteriors and antique furniture. The city also features Dwight Eisenhower’s Farm, a national historic landmark.

Lincoln Square

The Best Western Gettysburg Hotel is listed on the Historic Hotels of America, first welcoming guests in 1797. Less than a block from the hotel, President Abraham Lincoln penned the Gettysburg Address at the David Wills House. The grand ballroom once served as Gettysburg National Bank. The hotel features an old English pub and a rooftop pool. Select suites have refrigerators, two-person whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. The Inn at Lincoln Square is one of Gettysburg’s original Civil War buildings, which includes the Wills House. Joel Danner purchased the red brick colonial home in 1834, calling it Danner Guest House. In the 20th century, the house served as a meeting place for the YWCA. In 2010, it was transformed into an inn. The interior features dark wood furniture and local artwork. Its three suites have kitchenettes, sitting areas and wood furniture.

Baltimore Street

The 1863 Inn of Gettysburg is located in the historic district, within walking distance of the Gettysburg National Cemetery and the American Civil War Museum. The inn's lobby features a sitting area with a fireplace and bookshelves. On-site recreation consists of an outdoor pool that operates between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Select rooms have refrigerators, microwave ovens and whirlpool tubs. The 1863 guest room has period furniture, a quilted bed covering, and separate whirlpool tub and shower. Travelodge Gettysburg is a mile from the Gettysburg Battlefield Museum. The hotel accepts dogs free of charge, and it offers RV/truck parking next to the property.

Americas Best Value Inn is walking distance of the Civil War Museum, the Gettysburg National Cemetery and Gettysburg Tour Center. The Gettysburg Regional Airport is two-and-a-half miles from the hotel. The property has an outdoor swimming pool and truck/RV parking. Guest rooms offer free wireless Internet access. Quality Inn Gettysburg Motor Lodge is next to Gettysburg National Military Park and approximately two miles from the Eisenhower National Historic Site. Guests get picked up for tours of the military park and Washington, DC. The hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, a putting green and a gift shop. The Reliance Mine Saloon, the hotel’s underground lounge, serves late-night beverages. Select rooms contain whirlpool tubs.

York Road

Days Inn Gettysburg is two miles from the battlefields, where guests can view reenactments of Civil War battles. Hotel amenities include local shuttle service, a seasonal outdoor pool and 24-hour complimentary hot beverages. All guest rooms have refrigerators and microwaves while select accommodations contain whirlpool tubs. The Brafferton Inn has served as a cornerstone to downtown Gettysburg’s Historic District since 1786. It is the oldest continual residence in the Gettysburg and walking distance to shops, restaurants and museums. The inn allows children ages 10 and above. The property features a flower garden and patio area and the interior features artwork by Keith Rocco. The inn provides 24-hour coffee, tea and hot chocolate; afternoon fresh-baked cookies; and homemade breakfast. Rooms feature amenities such as fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and antique furniture.
