Dirt bike trailer rails help dirt bike riders transport their bikes safely. These rails allow the bike to sit up in the back of a trailer or the bed of a truck without falling over. They also help stabilize the bike so no damage occurs while en route to a dirk biking event or destination. Dirt bike trailer rails came in a variety of sizes to accommodate different-sized dirt bikes, and can also be used to transport bicycles and other equipment on wheels.
Single Rails
Dirt bike trailers with single rails are smaller in design and meant to carry only one dirt bike at a time. These types of trailers are easily towed behind any size vehicle with the right towing hitch. Single rails can be installed in the bed of a truck or on a flatbed trailer. There are also single-railed trailers available that come complete with a rail and ramp, and are designed with two tires, tail lights and a trailer hitch. Although these types of trailers with a single rail are small, they come with a rating of up to 2,000 pounds.
Double and Triple Rails
Dirt bike trailers with double or triple rails allow riders to carry up to three dirt bikes at a time. These types of trailers have a wider wheel base and come with a ramp for easy loading. Some double and triple rail trailers come with a flatbed, and rails can be added or removed depending on how many bikes are being hauled. Other double and triple rail models have permanent rails attached to a metal frame. Each type of dirt bike trailer is rated for the maximum number of bikes it can carry, and has a hitch, taillights and electrical hookups.
Stand-up Dirt Bike Trailers
Stand-up models of dirt bike trailers are appropriate for off-roading and make home storage convenient. These types of trailers come in one-, two- and three-rail models and fold up into an upright position when not in use. Some come with adjustable wheel cocks for dirt bikes and other sport vehicles with larger tires. The off-road feature of these stand-up models makes hauling bikes to remote destinations easier. With wider tires, a sturdy suspension bar and a steel frame, stand-up trailers with dirt bike rails allow you to take your dirt bike to challenging off-road courses.
Truck Bed Bike Rails
For dirt bike owners with a truck, using trailer rails designed for truck beds is a convenient way to go. Trailer rails for truck beds bring versatility to your vehicle and don't require purchasing an additional trailer to haul your dirt bikes. Rails can be installed in the bed itself, or you can purchase single- or double-rail systems that attach right to your trailer hitch. These types of bike rails are good for not only dirt bikes, but bicycles and scooters as well. For extra room in your truck bed, consider adding a truck bed extender. This adds length to your existing truck bed and makes transporting your dirt bikes and gear easier.
